If they can work from home, then yeah, you should let them.
Australia is doing sort of random testing. Certain medical centers will test anyone coming in. Think it is called the century program that is normally used to track infuenza during the season. The Australian Chief Medical Officer mentioned it in response to a question from a reporter yesterday morning. They are not finding anything in there that would indicate wider spread in the community.
This is kind of interesting when also looking at the data from the smart thermometer company. The arrow was about roughly 1 week ago.
Also, WA state on their map has gone from moderately above expected observed illness to barely above expected observed illness.
Basically, cut out entertainment and leisure and all else is essential.
He can no longer afford to post.
There’s some grey in the bottom left corner though. CHECKMATE
Come on.
So we basically have to find Bob Covidkiller?
Too obvious for even these hack ass writers? Chad Viruslayer?
Do you mean the death tolls for the flu, pneumonia, asthma, COPD, diabetes and old age? Why in the world would one blame your favorite president for that? Why, the coronavirus only killed 20,000 Americans. The flu killed 250,000! Trump told us to watch out for that flu, stable genius that he is, but we didn’t listen.
Gotta have testing to have an official death toll, anything else will be fake news.
At least 3 quarters of people sick enough to die from coronavirus are getting tested. Particularly since most of them are in NY and WA.
The researchers found that most coronavirus transmissions had occurred in regions with low temperatures, between 37.4 and 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit (or 3 and 17 degrees Celsius).
While countries with equatorial climates and those in the Southern Hemisphere, currently in the middle of summer, have reported coronavirus cases, regions with average temperatures above 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit (or 18 degrees Celsius) account for fewer than 6 percent of global cases so far.
“Wherever the temperatures were colder, the number of the cases started increasing quickly,” said Qasim Bukhari, a computational scientist at M.I.T. who is a co-author of the study. “You see this in Europe, even though the health care there is among the world’s best.”
At least two other studies published on public repositories have drawn similar conclusions for the coronavirus. One analysis by researchers in Spain and Finland found that the virus seemed to have found a niche in dry conditions and temperatures between 28.3 degrees and 49 degrees Fahrenheit (or minus 2 and 10 degrees Celsius). Another group found that before the Chinese government started imposing aggressive containment measures, cities with higher temperatures and more humid environments reported a slower rate of infection transmission early in the outbreak.
But none of the studies have been peer-reviewed by other scientists, and Dr. Bukhari acknowledged that factors such as travel restrictions, social distancing measures, variations in the availability of tests and hospital burdens might have affected the number of cases in different countries.
in more deaths from this that will get reported WAAF news–I’ve seen it suggested that some of those recovered probably will get pulmonary fibrosis due to the permanent lung damage so they’re still dead in 3 years.
Read if you feel line doing some hating. I don’t, so I didn’t read it.
Was thinking earlier that any day now a rapper named Chloroquine will emerge with a rhyme style that’s completely dedicated to eviscerating Boomers.
I have no doubt that the elite class is thinking if the middle or lower class dies, so be it. That’s why they are getting tests and the rest of us are not. As long as they are healthy, life is good.
It’s like how when something happens in other parts of the world, 99% of Americans don’t pay attention or care because it’s not our culture or a part of our daily lives. That’s how the elite class views us. Like some will have empathy, but they’ll be sad for a few minutes and move on with their lives. Just like we are when we hear about some random earthquake or hurricane.
…
- 80% of the population getting the disease implies an r0 of 5, which is insane.
- 9% CFR is insane. The implied infection fatality rate of 3.6% is insane.
There is a decent chance 80%+ of working age people who get Covid wouldn’t even be sick enough to miss work, if they showed symptoms at all.
500k dead in New York? They have a population of 20 million. You really think its going to kill 2.5% of the entire population of the state if nothing was done?
Hospitals getting overrun is obviously a huge problem but I feel like theres a lot of hyperbole being used to describe the potential effects of a do nothing approach.
The only wild hyperbole was this part:
How about a broken arm … being a death sentence because the health care system has collapsed.
Otherwise pretty calm and measured for Jman.
It’s kind of complicated. We can find work for some, but we can’t have everyone work from home.
And we are an actual essential service. Although not everything we do is.
The State of California had seemingly been a little vague about what essential services are. The City of Manhattan Beach (where I have a couple jobs in process) had straight up banned work on residential construction. But now, something the State has done has apparently determined that construction is an essential service for sure and that cities cannot ban it. Anyway, that’s what MB says and they are lifting the ban.
People don’t have lights if we don’t answer the phone.
My post there was in no way a response to what you had said. It was just an fyi for the thread.
I’m not saying construction isn’t essential or your work isn’t. As far as my previous post, I just think if someone can work from home, they should. I certainly don’t know whether/how many people at your place can do that.
