SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

I think you triple reverse strawmanned his strawman.

I think the point of “lol @ giving pledge” is enough on its own.

p.s. nvm i read too quickly

They literally tried (and at first succeeded I think) with Washington State officials.

Nah.

If there was ever a time to use your fortune to help humanity, most of the ~400,000 Africans dying of malaria each year are under 5 years old…

Sure he can, he can simply slow-walk or just deny entirely federal aid for this or that and states can either toe the line or get fucked. Who is to stop him?

If that happens, I hope Cuomo has the balls to use eminent domain to turn Trump Tower etc. into field hospitals

He absolutely can do this. Trump Tower’s lobby is a public space. The Privately Owned Public Space Inside Trump Tower is Already Less Accessible  - Untapped New York

The courts are all shut down for everything but essential matters, so no.

He can, but unfortunately Namath is right. New Yorkers send most of their tax money to Trump and then have to beg to get it back. And you probably don’t want to test how many hostages Trump is willing to shoot.

Yeah, will be interesting to see how long they can keep NY courts shut down for and if federal courts shut down too (my guess is no). My current stuff is federal so I’m waiting with baited breath here on that.

Has there been any talk of extending statutes of limitations?

He’s alive!

O/u how many takes this took? 25?

He still fucked up a few times.

I thought he meant he was gonna eat his kids.

Did not click. Is he wearing business pajamas?

No, but he’s definitely short of breath and mush-mouthed.

He gets a passing grade. Why harp on about families though? Single people don’t need help? Couples don’t need help?

“The differences between the two identified strains are tiny. In fact, they can’t really be considered to be separate ‘strains,’” virology professor Dr. Ian Jones of the University of Reading told The New Scientist . “In all practical terms, the virus is as it was when it originally emerged. There’s no evidence it is getting any worse.” (Other scientists in the same article, however, support the use of the term “strain”.)

Maybe - but FWIW there seems to be a lot of question about whether those two strains the Chinese doctor found are really different enough to cause separate immunities to be needed.

Joe’s the kind of student who I give a D to just so I don’t have to teach him next year.

I actually thought this was a possibility at first because it appeared more fatal and destructive in China compared to Europe. Now, it appears that it’s basically the same virus from a mortality perspective but just that most other countries were ready for it while China and Italy weren’t for obvious reasons.

Coronavirus is for families. Happy families.

Maybe single voters get coronavirus. I don’t know. Frankly, I don’t want to know. It’s a voting demographic I can do without.

The contrast between Cuomo (able to speak intelligently about specifics, focused, compassionate, etc.) and Trump is legitimately mind-blowing. Trump is such a dope he makes Pence seem like an A+ leader at these pressers.

Has anyone on this forum contracted it yet for sure? I don’t think so? Could be a tiny data point that being informed enough to be paranoid makes a big difference.
