SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

That lines up with what Cuomo has been talking about in press releases. He said that NYC has received a million new masks recently.

If they are doing 100m a month, I don’t see why that wouldn’t be true.

Yeah I guess I’m jaded from all the lying at the moment.

We need companies to ramp up the ventilators.

Also, my 1 year old has a fever of 100 today and is coughing. She is also pulling at her ear and may have an ear infection. Her doctor’s office is located in a wing of the local hospital. I am at a loss.

Only 14% of NYC’s population is 65 or over, so they are slightly over-represented among confirmed cases.

Maybe they can see her during early hours when fewer people are around.

True. A good chunk go to The Villages when they hit 65.

damn dude, first i would try a remote doctor and see what they think.

but otherwise, i would think to just find a stand alone pediatrician office.

If it were me I would risk taking her to see her doctor.

Yeah, I’m going to call tomorrow when they open. If I call now I’ll get some bullshit on call nurse working out of a call center in texas or something reading from a script.

Can’t even find a non random Chinese named thermometer on Amazon and they all have 0 reviews. Target shows all cooking probes when I search. ffs

I have an infrared thermometer but says I’m 94 degrees so think there is some adjustment needed there?

infrared thermometers are for shit. In my experience the non medical grade ones have a margin of error plus or minus about 5 degrees.

I don’t have any advice, but good luck with whatever you decide to do.

This has been our experience as well. This morning I was everything from 94 degrees to 102.

I mean the only reason to take her at this point would be if she had a bacterial ear infection (needs antibiotics), strep throat (needs antibiotics), or the flu (get tamiflu). Nothing else is treatable anyway. I don’t think she has the flu, this is pretty mild and she’s not that sick. If this were normal times I wouldn’t bother with the doctor unless her fever went higher or this didn’t resolve on its own.
