SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

Actually, shitty electronic music would be an improvement over my gym. As I told the coach, “if this doesn’t work out for you, there are a lot of supermarkets that need music supervisors.” (He’s an excellent fitness instructor but his music selection leans toward 80s hair metal and rap/pop.)

I literally burned him two playlists (mostly up tempo 90s alt rock) but he hasn’t listened to them yet. Soundgarden is workout music, DJ Jazzy Jeff is not.

I mean we bought a 10 lb pork roast the other day because it was on sale and sectioned it off, and we have a bunch of frozen chicken too. Most of that was actually bought prior to this craze, but when we looked at it we agreed we could probably make that last two months if needed.

Do you know everything going on in Italy right now and what might happen over the next month? (Not saying that I do, but I don’t think we can really say.)

There are hundreds of people here. We’re in a very organized line so it’s hard to estimate the exact number. I am told the people at the front of the line got here at 3AM.

You won’t believe this, but when I walked out my door toward my car I heard a bark/yowl behind me to my left. I turned and saw a bobcat crawling in stalking mode (away from me, thank goodness). It bolted someplace and I saw a hawk dash up to a branch. I’m assuming a hawk killed something and the bobcat was stealing it. THEN another hawk flew next to the first hawk, jumped on it, and had sex with it. I swear I am not making this up. This feels very much like a sign but God help me I have no idea what it means.

I guess I should watch Contagion. Is it available on any of the streaming platforms?

Who knows, better hoard as much stuff as you can possibly buy.

Can’t eat money, doesn’t keep your house warm or cool, it is not medicine, doesn’t fix your broken house or car, doesn’t pick you up if you are disabled etc. Governments print money as stimulus because it puts people to work, not because paper with numbers on it creates stuff.

Today is my last day working in the office thankfully. Just got the go ahead to work from home for the foreseeable future.

Your wife or kid probably dosed you with LSD.

That bobcat’s name was Albert Einstein.

My coffee hut was still open this morning, they hadn’t heard about the closings in WA, more depressingly, so was the Subway shop. Who goes to a suburban Subway at 7am? The parking lot of the Muck didn’t look any less full so looks like the casinos didn’t get the message either.

Anyone know how they are going to enforce the closings?

Hmmmm ok…but as the UK’s GDP/capita is ~twice what it was 30 years ago (and no one was starving), why sweat a 10% drop in GDP?

NY just closed gyms anyway, so all irrelevant. I’m going to see if I can borrow some of the dumbbells from the small gym in my building.

I am lucky enough to have a good home set up (barbell, bumper plates, bench, dumbbells, even one kettlebell). I feel WAY better working out at home, even if I am restricted in what I can do without a rack.

Fill some boxes up with books and walk them up the stairs a few times.

Bro I live in a one br apartment in NYC.

Just found out they are leaving the small gym open in my building but only letting a few people at a time use it so that will suffice, even though there are only dumbbells and dumb shit.

because you need to go to the actual gym to do this

this is supposed to be the smart forum and we’ve got people just going to the gym and playing poker when i’ve been inside for a week. might as well just go out and do everything

Why the f are people going out and doing stuff right now unless it’s a 100% necessity???
