SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

They’re still voting for obviously selfish and bad stuff today that’s going to have huge negative effects on their kids.

I have a good friend from grad school who has become a health nut. That’s great - she’s a total hardbody now and seems awesome.

But lately, she’s trending toward become a health wacko. She’s posted shit from Dr. Drew and other bullshit YouTube videos about power dosing on Vitamin C and other crap. She even started her own vlog with a pseudonym. I can’t get through a few minutes of it.

About fucking time. FB has been doing that since the beginning.

Now youtube has to follow suit. Fuck Jude Law from Contagion - make people watch him on shitty platforms at least.

I like how you specified the nationality.

“Come on she may be stupid but she’s Canadian stupid not American stupid. American stupid is partying in Florida or living in The Villages. Canadian stupid is not practicing social distancing and following it up with months of apologies”

Oh, our generation understands, look at the voting breakdowns between Bernie and Biden. Problem is the olds overwhelm us with #s at the polls.

In a few years, Canadians will be supporting a politician who wants to build a wall along the American border and make them pay for it.

So 3 weeks ago CPAC was whooping it up making fun of this thing and pozzing each other.

2 weeks ago Trumpkins were still posting BS on FB.

A week ago Trump was still comparing it to the flu.

And now only the super morons aren’t taking it seriously - although many still blame the media because hurrr durrrr. And of course the goldfish memories have no recollection of the past month.

A slow motion version of this is going with climate change in most of our lifetimes.

That brush of yours could paint a wall in one stroke.

And the same here with boomer Brexit voters, typically aged 55 to 75.

Interestingly those aged over 80 are pro-EU, having suffered from WW2 (many kids, like my mother, were evacuated from cities during the Blitz to live with families in other parts of the country), unlike the younger boomers who grew up believing in the land of milk and honey.

My mother and father, if they were still alive, would have no truck whatsoever with Brexit.

In the context of a discussion of generational attitudes shaped by lived experiences, yes, yes I’m generalizing, lol.

Of course, the EU was designed to stop another World War from happening by interconnecting the economies of all of its countries, meaning that going to war with another member state would be economic suicide.

People who don’t remember that think the EU is meaningless and pointless.

Damn. My condolences.

How do you know they understand? Voting patterns don’t show people’s reasons for voting.

Im sure you’re aware of some people voting leftish when young and moving to the right when older, and it’s not for the reason Churchill allegedly gave. It’s another example of people voting purely for their own financial interests at a particular point in time and fuck everyone else.

I don’t care why boomers are narcissistic assholes, I care that their behavior is not changing and is in fact getting worse even as it’s tragic effects on others are amplified to a degree that makes innocent explanations impossible.

He also said that the reason we will be better off than Italy is because we’ve been on the ball and got way out in front of it. Also our healthcare system is the best in the world. Not two minutes after poo-pooing any issues with capacity he was praising Gavin Newsome for parking a hospital ship off the coast of CA to deal with patients (ie boost capacity).

He really is living in an alternate reality.

Marx understood this really well.

If this is true, then Trump’s account would be shut down.
