No idea if there is interest but I enjoy doing these and I refuse to give Mason even a fraction of a cent.
In the airport now, my direct flight lands in the early afternoon Vegas time. I’m hoping to stay on east coast time as I’ve had consistently miserable second days on previous trips after not going to bed early enough on day 1.
Agenda is poker and sports betting, degenerate factor moderate. May take a shot at the Wynn 5-10 game, usually a 2/5 Wynn or 5/10 Bellagio player. Will be eating well though I just realized I forgot to pack dress shoes.
The Cosmo has a food court thing up on the second floor that, among other offerings, has Hattie B’s Nashville hot chicken and also has a Pok Pok (from Portland} counter serving their Thai spicy chicken wings.
Can confirm both places are legit. I stop at the Pok Pok in Portland whenever I’m there.
I also are at the steakhouse at the D downtown and it was very good, though I don’t think it’s any better than all of the other $50 steaks in town.
Shang Artisan noodles a little west of the palms is amazing Chinese pulled noodles. Hey the Shang beef soup with shaven noodles and the beef pancakes. I wouldn’t be surprised if I ate every meal there my next trip.
Coming here makes me feel a lot of gratitude, and reinforces my appreciation for working people. There are so many people in Las Vegas working hard, dealing with assholes, not getting paid very much.
I played 1-3 for a few hours and was asleep by 9pm per the plan. Only interesting hand I messed up. I 3! a cutoff open to 70 with queens, opponent is a spazz / terrible. Flop is Q 7 4 with a flush draw and he leads 120 with 250 behind. I should be shoving here but I just called and the turn A killed my action, he check folded what he claimed was the case queen.
Slept 5-6 hours, a personal record, then got in a 2-5 that had at least 5 pros. The one spot was to my left, and he was among 5 callers when I raised my big blind to 35 with black KK. Flop was 6 4 3 rainbow and I continued for 85. Fish calls as does button. Turn A comporting the rainbow, I check, fish bets 200 and the button folds. I don’t see how he has an ace here too often and I’d seen him bluff earlier so I put him in for his last 100. River 8, I win.
Was hoping for some spewy drunks but mostly got tired pros. The Bellagio 5/10 looked great but I couldn’t get a seat and it seemed like a situation where nobody was going to leave until the fish went broke, at which point the game would break.
Walked from Aria to Bellagio all the way to Wynn, nice walk but man can the strip be depressing at that hour.
The games are bad. For reasons unknown pros keep moving to Vegas despite the town having, without question, the worst games in the country. You do occasionally get a totally off the rails game but that seems less common in recent years.
It was -200 at Bellagio and I actually checked both places when there but I don’t want to have to go back there. That’s some serious sports betting idiocy, yes I’m aware.
I’m just trolling with a conspiracy theory that you’re actually a variable in the model moving lines 10 points. That top cookie sort of looks like frowny Trump.
