This is the post that started it, in which he lols at two users hoping to be able to vaccinate their children under five. That’s the start of the incident. You seem to think the incident started a few posts later when they were arguing over cites. As the exchange heats up, he takes a shot at Wookie for his kid(s) having caught it and for his testing regimen or lack thereof.
Meanwhile some of your cites don’t exactly say what you think they say. But that belongs in the COVID thread.
i’m sorry but are you serious? Is your point that the guy who has been banned 20 times for work in the covid thread has at least one post that you can argue it’s not trolling?

Like, you’re citing the third or forth post of his in the interaction and essentially saying, “See! He didn’t cite this, but it’s citable, so it’s not trolling.”
My point is the whole interaction started as trolling. To claim that it’s overall good faith or that he’s not just a troll because like 10% of the interaction was him posting a claim that could possibly be cited is missing the forest for the trees.
I know you said you haven’t followed that thread and have him on mute, but I have and imo it is option 1 and not option 2. In fact your option 1 pretty elloquently sums things up as far as my experience as a mostly anonymous reader.
The individual in question has spent years scoreboarding American COVID deaths in highly nationalistic and frankly gross ways, taking dozens of moderator actions in the process. Enough is enough imo.
I haven’t seen anything to suggest they contribute in any other thread (aside from a couple drive-bys to troll the Ukraine thread), but I’d be happy to hear they do participate elsewhere. Would prefer they were forbidden from the next couple dozen inevitable times the oxygen gets sucked out of the covid thread rather than a full ban (tho I’m not sure what the functional difference is if there isn’t participation elsewhere), but that doesn’t seem like a thing.

Is this just because you’re more or less opposed to any bans for anything less than horse porn, doxxing, threats, etc? Or is it about churchill in particular?
I think you also said it would be like banning you, which I guess might have just been your way of saying you’d leave, but like nobody wants you to leave as far as I know, and you seem to be an extremely appreciated and welcome member of the community. Am I missing something from some other thread I don’t read?
Churchill trolls less than 100% of the time but more than 0% of the time. When he does troll, he’s usually the instigator.
I’m not convinced he should banned, but I am convinced he’s not the victim here.
