I think you are by far the best judge, if that helps
I think you are both equally good judges.

BOY - Little Numbers
There are a few entries where I feel saying I liked pop music lead to some quite bland submissions, and sadly this is one of them I can’t really think of much to say about it, but I again accept his could well be down to my category choice and definition of what I was after
I don’t want to be too harsh about it, and I did enjoy listening to it. It is a nicely crafted song, and the chorus did get stuck in my head more than once, but I just want something more
I think I quite like this one.
Yup, some pretty bland stuff. Probably right about asking for pop.

Hot Summer Night by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals
My word, where to start with this one. I mean it feels so dated it actually made me laugh the first time I heard it. It could have been released any time in the last 50 years. But to be fair it does exactly what it sets out to do, and it’s a good old-fashioned blues stomper. Having said that I absolutely love the Ramones and music doesn’t get any more formulaic than that. I can’t believe I’ve placed it so high, but there you go.
It’s shocking that people still make music like this. What on earth were they thinking of?
Let us know when you get to one you actually like
We are at the nexus - everything else is top notch. The remaining submissions could all have podiumed
Definitely sounds dated, but I really like her voice.
Blues/southern rock is passe I guess.
this is not mine
This song is surprisingly pleasant musically but the humor doesn’t really work for me. Still alive as of posting. Cue curse after being silent for so long.
It’s so cliched, but it was Mrs Swanky’s favourite. I raised a disapproving eyebrow and said no more

Speaking of the Ramones….
Helen Love - So Hot
We are now getting to the enjoyable stage of the competition for me, From here on in I really enjoyed every submission
For many a year this would have been a runaway winner in a swanky walrus, a great blast of bubble-gum surf- pop. I’ve never heard of Helen Love before, but if we ever get back to normality and they were playing in my vicinity I would 100% go and check them out. Really enjoyed this one
Your song title and video don’t match. OK fixed. I think he accidentally posted the first place selection there.
Wrong song!
Referee!
Hopefully sorted
oops, now we know which is yours
That’s mine, btw. I’m glad they got some love after their last outing.
Yeah, I was struggling to hear the bubble-gum surf- pop in the first one posted.
