It’s got got Biden/Trump at 48.1%/45.8%, for a net Biden +2.3%. That seems bad!
But this does not seem like a stable poll at all. For the last 5 days, these are some of the Biden-Trump detailed figures (I just grabbed the ones I thought were interesting; there are more breakdowns on the IBD site):
I don’t think that Biden gained 9 points in the Midwest from yesterday to today, nor do I think that support among the 65+ group plummeted by more than 10 points in the past week. I’m having a hard time placing much weight on this poll at all.
I mean it’s ratings gold. We can all worry that the financial incentive to keep the Trump presidency going is potentially very strong over at the 24/7 networks… but a big part of what makes him so valuable to their business model is that his career, if not his ego, can take a punch.
