Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

No. I am a privileged straight white male and the totality of police interaction is designed to inflict extreme fear. I am not afraid of dying necessarily. but seeing a cop always brings with it sweeping anxiety.

That should not be the case for anyone. The police. If allowed to continue should uplift people not terrify them because 95% of outcomes are bad.

Why wouldn’t they talk to that guy at the bus stop before running up on him waking him up and screaming instructions at him.

There have been discussions over the years about the police job being dangerous. However, where o
, I stand they are so hostile and aggressive and kill people so indiscriminately that there is actually very pity of risk.

I am just done with it. I get nervous when I see the police and I have been a straight laced law abiding citizen forever. If I thought I might die every time I saw the police I don’t know what I would do.

Also I want to circle this back around to the bird watching incident. Anyone who didn’t see that lady’s call as attempted murder is a ding a ling. We see how police approach black people who have not been accused of threatening anyone. Mr. Cooper was probably looking at a near coin toss to live if the police showed up.

I want to also say that I would be the first person to defend the police in a shooting if the situation warranted it. Where are those videos? Seems like police supporters would have a vested interest in getting out videos that are not just psychopathic cold blooded murder. Yet I see none.

That was the insane part to me. Homeless guy is sleeping. Just have one or two officers go up to him, wake him up, and ask him if he needs help or if they can call someone for him. Perhaps take him to a shelter. YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE HELPERS.

I can kind of (KIND OF) understand shooting him when he went to his waistband, but it seems like they could’ve waited another second to see what the fuck he was doing (though admittedly, that could be a tough decision to make). MORE IMPORTANTLY, IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN TO THAT POINT.

EDIT: I just found a new story about the incident. Apparently, the guy had a BB gun, so I can certainly understand what might have gone on in a cops head at that point. Once again, though, WHY DID IT COME TO THAT?

Also, the first officer shot a rubber bullet. Yay, I’m so glad he used something “non-lethal” when everyone else just opened up with real bullets on the poor dude.

I couldn’t tell but was he holding a BB gun when the police approached him.

I get the police going ham on someone where they see a weapon (unless white supremacists ldo) but if they did that simply because of a report, that is ob them.

I have spent the past 23 years doing jobs that have a fatality rate ranging from slightly above to 3.5x higher than law enforcement. They can fuck right off with the whining about how dangerous their job is.

And you don’t even go on roofs anymore.

that’s fucking great…

“bc i’ve gone to bed sooo many nights thinking, ‘i’d love to go rob cobb county but the only possible way to get there is a train, and i only have an escalade’”

hahahahahaha

If you carry a gun and you fall, before you hit the ground grab your gun from it’s holster and throw it directly below you to break the fall.

What I love about it is it’s exactly what I thought when I moved here and read about the racist history of Cobb County and MARTA. Like, even if it wasn’t racist and just concerned with crime, what are people going to do, come up here, find their way to my house, take my TV, and carry it home on a train?

The part that killed me on first watch was “the good stuff…I’m talking about Xbox controllers and pianos.”

They really just don’t want them around at all. They might be scared of crime because they are scared of everything, but mostly they just think the neighborhood will be ruined by the presence of undesirables whether they commit crime or not.

We have this problem in L.A. The wealthiest neighborhoods have set our public transit back decades.

Right winger shoots a protestor in New Mexico and gets arrested very peacefully. In this video right winger punches a guy from behind right in front of a cop and nothing happens. If it isn’t already clear what side the police are on

I read the book and yea its quite bad. Not only is it easier to get wrongly accused/convicted but the punishment will be worse and no ones going to look into it as much.

I actually was on a roof last fall - small addition where I did the entire job myself, foundation to final paint. Only about 3 square, single story, 4/12 pitch. The shingles weren’t too bad, but setting the trusses and decking it by myself was a bit hairy.

That’s very cool. You will be needed after society collapses.

Our neighbor upgraded her easel to a pretty large Black Lives Matter sign that borders our property. We live on a somewhat busy street in a very white area so it’s going to get some exposure.

I also drove thru the center of town today and the quintessential white (color of the building) Congregational Church on the hill has a very large BLM sign. The church has always hung a large rainbow flag so they’re okay in my book despite being a church.

Pretty cool pic of protest in alabama

Protests I’ve seen here in SoCal have had nearly 100% of people wearing masks. Protest in Alabama is good to see, but not that’s a lot of face showing there.

Police commonly refer to gun toting red neck supremacists as “friendlies” I think it is pretty clear which side they are on. (I know it was rhetorical)
