Reading more, donating to BLM means that you donate to ActBlue which works to distribute money to progressive causes. They report to you that they donated to Thousand Currents which according to their FAQ…
Of course, they don’t tell you where your money is going since you’re not the one donating to them.
I mean that’s basically a part of a money laundering operation. The whole thing stinks of a grift.

And what exactly does he think caused the “collapse of the black family”? He has successfully identified one of the problems but seems oblivious to the root cause of it which is racism throughout the criminal justice system/policing among other issues. Successful black areas were literally bombed into oblivion by the authorities. His original posts basically saying this are a black issue and that black people need to fix their own problems us unbelievably racist and I have a hard time squaring that with what he wrote in the second post.

by expanding black colleges he musta meant still way fewer and poorer colleges than the white ones?

Found this article as I was trying to learn more about this. It has more information about what happens with money donated to BLM.
It seems like ActBlue isn’t the problem. Rather, BLM has set up its fundraising in a very opaque way.
It’s easier to impeach than to use the 25th amendment if the president still has enough capacity to dispute the judgment of his incapacity.

Yea i think the play here is to just donate to local organizations and other ones that have been posted here where you can be sure where the money is going.
It’s not a grift. The BLM Network is just that, an activist network. Although the chapters are 501(c )(3) legal entities, there are additional legal requirements to accept tax deductible donations. That, and they simply may not care to set up an in-house donation platform, and so divert a significant amount of activists time away from front line organizing. All they have done is outsource donations/gear sales/etc.
Yeah. Most neighborhoods or areas in my city have mutual aid groups giving out food and supplies that you can donate to, my sister and a few friends have been doing this. Bond funds are a good place to donate to just check the website for it make sure they aren’t one of the funds overrun with donations, better to give to funds in need. Also we are still in the middle of a pandemic with a lot of people out of work so food pantries still need help.

Thing is that BLM itself isn’t a designated 501. They just pass your money onto 501 organizations. So we don’t see how much money they collect on tax documents since they’re not publicly available. Its opacity makes it pretty easy to get away with grifting if that’s what it is.
I really wouldn’t feel comfortable donating to them. I’ll stick to my yearly contributions to GiveDirectly.
Ultimately, the website delegitimizes the BLM movement by being this shady and suspicious.

Amazing that he just wants to blame the black people for not fixing it, like it is not the responsibility of society as a whole.
I just think we need to find more transparent organizations to donate to right now.
I do not like the way all of this BLM fund raising is going.
The scary thing is I think this antifa-scare is all very deliberate and who knows could end up being the vehicle that takes us into full-blown fascism. At least I am 100% convinced that’s what the boogaloo people are trying to do with it.
They need an enemy like the nazis needed the communists and Jews. Antifa is great because it’s so amorphous and can be arbitrarily applied to any enemy you want, or used as cover for your own false flag activities - just like communists.
That’s why I was so vociferous in JV’s antifa thread on P&S. I think this shit is completely intentional and has the potential to be very dangerous.
