Not sure either of those are going to be comparable in an organization whose goal is not as extreme as killing people.
I don’t disagree with you at all and even though I believe it saved my cousin I don’t feel good about their current existence.
Although when you talk about similar groups, firefighters are very similar to military and police with a lot of crossover but they have a lot fewer assholes.

So far we have a lot of data if you throw a water bottle at Police you will be tased, gassed, rubber bulleted and beaten. If, however, you openly brandish a fire arm you will receive a pat on the back and a thumbs up.
In face of that glaring reality, I find it nearly impossible to argue against the “defund the police0 crowd even though that is where my instinct initially wanted to take me.
I mean, it does kind of put paid to the idea that voting for democrats is the way to make changes. All these cities are run by democrats and the police are out of control in all of them.

Gonna need the narrator on firefighters. It’s a good thing they don’t carry guns.
As noted, there is no national database of police misconduct. As a big government liberal, I’m generally in favor of building national databases as part of the solution to almost everything, from gun control to voter registration.
I feel like wearing that in many places in the us is asking for serious trouble lol
