Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

He also supported temporary UBI during the pandemic. I’ve taken heat for positive comments about him before, but he’s probably better than some Dem senators.

Another thing is they shouldn’t be handing 17yos weapons at all. If you are not considered old enough to be able to exercise the judgement required to consume alcohol (at the very damn minimum)… you shouldn’t be given lethal weapons and then sent out on patrol.

So, we should just stick with the status quo then? Fucking progress happening.

Speaking of George Romney. I was listening to Malcolm X’s Ballot or the Bullet speech today. And he specifically called out George Romney as being no better than the Dixie crats.

I don’t believe it’s gone come tomorrow dude, they just confirmed they will start down that road. Seems like announcing your intentions is a good a place to start as any.

Not everyone knows that.

Romney is already rich, so he doesn’t need to grift or use connections so his family can grift. Huge factor.

Did I say stick with the status quo??? The worst thing for progress is to abolish, not replace, and see a big spike in crime.

I know next to nothing about George Romney but would think even the fact that he marched with civil rights’ leaders puts him above Dixiecrats.

I think they will figure out something before just leaving it to the streets.

My dad and his brother went to Korea as CO status - I found our about 2 years ago - Dad NEVER said anything of what he did or saw, but I know it fucking him up badly - and his younger brother became a raging alcoholic (Korea + some probably other diagnosed problems) and basically was on the street 30 years)\

My dad was a mid american go-to-work-do-your-job guy - I came home from school 1973 and my dad had asked what I done that day - told him I had to register for the draft. His response was - if you got called you’re going to Canada. My number up, 343, and that was that. But I remember my dad’s response.

What’s the hurry? And how could they if they wanted to… this is going to take a whole lotta the West-Wing Reach-Around dance.

The city council can’t vote our you-know-what, so all the flash-bang power needed to do that shiz will still be there. Here’s what will happen…

Short term: nothing. Medium term: (a) the c-suite cop bosses all get fired, department possibly downsized, (b) the sheriff takes over, ( c) a state police agency takes over. Long term: (i) the sheriff stays, with a smaller footprint than the old PD, (ii) a new smaller PD is organized, (iii) a metro or merged PD is formed (say a “Twin City Force” w/ St.Paul PD effectively taking over patrolling both & resulting in a smaller footprint in both cities, all depending on MN legal customs).

Suddenly had an irresistible urge too listen to some Doobie Brothers.

The parties flipped in the 60s. Romney Jr. just apparantly got the message this week of what his dad stood for.

63% of Democrats in the House voted for the 1964 civil rights act and 80% of Republicans did. Different times.

Wolf Blitzer interviewing acting deputy secretary of homeland security

Asks him if there is systemic racism in U.S. police departments.

Paraphrasing his answer: “No. The real problem is bullying. Chauvin was a bully.”

Well, sure. I was responding to the suggestion that George Romney was no better than a Dixiecrat when there seems to be fairly decent evidence he was.

It would seem easy enough to determine by reviewing all the complaints made against him.

The hurry is that crime is going to shoot up if they get rid of the police, and if Dems keep talking about getting rid of the police without replacing them, Trump is going to win 35-40 states, because most people understand that we need some form of policing/law enforcement… including most people who understand the current form is a disaster.

Even if Dems make it crystal clear they want to replace them with something, they’ll get attacked for wanting no police, and it’ll be catastrophic. If they make it clear, the attacks won’t stick as well.
