I feel like there are A TON of steps between 1 and 2 here, including temporarily losing back the senate and presidency and some tepid policy achievements that Republicans say “LOL no” to as soon as they get power.
Who will this even be? The favorites right now are full of cops and prosecutors and other electoral nightmares.
After seeing his reply to another person’s post come up on my FB feed, I went to check out what one of my favorite high school teachers (Ph.D in History) from 40 years ago was discussing. He and a friend seemed to be having a conversation about race relations, and my teacher wrote something to the effect of “if America is irredeemably racist then why didn’t Obama address it?”
I then jumped in and the following occurred:
At this point, I don’t know whether I should:
- Just ignore and block him?
- Respond back and state how sad and disappointed I am that a long-time history teacher is ignoring the obvious effects slavery, Jim Crow, redlining and mass incarceration have had on generations of black Americans attempts to secure wealth and stability?
- Basically curse out this 75 year old man and tell him I’m sorry I ever looked up to him?
- A combination of “2” and “3”?
- Something else?

Ask him why the black community has “poor education” and “endemic poverty”. His specific answer really doesn’t matter. Keep pushing and eventually you will get to either:
A) Black people are inferior people.
B) Black people are the victims of systematic racism over the years.
There is no C.
If (hopefully) you get to B, then you can ask why he doesn’t think white people have a duty to right some of these wrongs.

Just post that video where the black lady is comparing it to monopoly and how for 400 rounds black people had to give all their money to white people etc. She also points out how when they did secure wealth it was literally burned to the ground etc.
She absolutely slays it. Then again people are way less likely to watch videos than read text so meh. He doesn’t seem like a full blown deplorable so there might be hope.

Seattle looks to be the most organized/wild still. I don’t remember seeing any video at any time of police being physically pushed back like this. I wonder if this is where they got tear gassed?

Deplorables don’t know shit about structural racism. Even if they did, they’d deny its existence. Hell, I didn’t know about until I was 30.
I saw the stupid shit my mother posted and she has no clue. She’s not exactly a Karen but many of her views are consistent with Karen’s.

Black people at protest with guns arrested, white people including someone who has trained in a white supremacist militia were not. I mean duh, but I wonder what would happen if there was a massive open carry thing going on in leftists protests were it was allowed, by people of all race.
Best case scenario they change the laws like Reagan did, worst case scenario they open fire and blame it on the protesters. I dunno I used to think that was more likely, but cops are straight up cowards. Would they really try to get into a gun battle with say 50 leftist activists with AR-15s?
