You are probably right. Which circles back around to my point that really the Dems are the biggest hurdle to getting anything progressive done in this country.
The other huge hurdle is getting to 60 senators(or even 50). Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi. Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Indiana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah gets the GOP to 34 senators. Then you have the highly likely GOP wins in places like Ohio, Florida, Texas, Georgia, West Virginia (lol Manchin). That’s 44 senators before we even get to any states where the Dems have a good chance.
So we are drawing to somehow having progressives overthrow the party + a progressive landslide + a progressive president. That is impossible in the next 8 years and extremely unlikely ever. It’s worth fighting for though.
That local news channel had to TURN OFF the sound because the officer was cussing. However showing them violently attack the guy is okay. We are so messed up.
I do get only the slightest temporary grin at the unforeseen consequences of massive video surveillance on the police state.
I have realized recently that what the police use to get away with had to be absolutely bonkers.
Only FOX viewers (and a few dishonest racists) would call them “race riots.” The Dems let the overt racists float over to the GOP in the '60s; they shouldn’t put any time/effort/money into courting them today.
I’ve been continually impressed with how many people in my early middle-aged (35-45) friend group have been out in the protests, and not just making an appearance, like out there multiple nights. I’m just impressed overall with the sustained effort and the persistence around the country.
Agreed. I’m somewhat out of the loop and never know when stuff is going down. Friday night I rolled into just a massive, massive march in Long Beach unexpectedly. Second time a huge march has passed by my house.
I had no idea this was coming. I guess that’s kinda how these things go, but it’s amazing.
