Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

Shit, is that what the rubber is for?

See, there you go, the cops could just wait them out and nail them for public urination!

no, i’m just imagining that a protest could be a good place to meet people.

Just keep an eye out in general that you’re staying on the fringe and not in the thick of it. Like, pay attention if a crowd starts forming around so you can slide back to the outskirts.

The reason is the town. Naperville is the whitest, richest, blandest collection of cul de sacs and chain stores you can think of maybe 30 miles west of Chicago. I think the Philly equivalent would be the Main Line.

A small amount of damage there will have a much bigger political impact.

p.s.

Like, don’t feel guilty if you’re not in the thick of it screaming F The Po directly in a cop’s face.

So how’d you meet your wife?

Well, it was really love at first tear gassing. Then I felt this electric chemistry, but I realized that was just the tazer. Never the less, we bonded in the back of the transport wagon, and before you knew it we were on top of each other - but only because the rough ride knocked us all over the back of the van. Anyway, I got her number when we got released and yada yada yada, we got married.

OK, cool. That’s kind of my plan, but I guess the outskirts can quickly become the front lines… and if I see a black person about to be fucked up, it’s going to be hard not to try to get in the middle of it as a white buffer.

Yeah I don’t plan on going right to that level. I plan to be chanting whatever the crowd is chanting, and I don’t plan to be right on the front line especially if it’s tense. Now if the crowd is chanting Fuck the Police, well… I’m not skipping that.

I don’t want to be trying to lead anything, it’s not my job. My job is to be there in solidarity, follow the lead of the people organizing it who are hopefully people of color, and attempt to lend my white privilege when I can to keep them safer and/or get the message out more.

They’re making the same mistake they made with HRC.

You too man.

Yeah I think I’m going to skip this. Would never use it on police, seems like a dumb way to end up pumped full of lead. Was thinking if some racist fucks with baseball bats showed up, it might be helpful. Now I’m thinking it’s just not worth the downside.

That’s the plan. The water bottles that can be squeezed and squirt a bit are ideal, right? About how much would you say is used on one person? One thing I’m thinking if I’m around the fringes is that when people get gassed, I can run in, grab them by the shoulder and guide them back to the edge, and flush their eyes out. So ideally I’d have enough to help a bunch of people when it happens.

Going to be essential to cover my n95 for COVID purposes, then, because I’ve only got the one.

And as I type that, a bunch of loud bangs nearby.

Milk > water + baking soda? Oh, milk for pepper spray, water and baking soda for tear gas?

The people who seemed experienced preferred baking soda over milk. Milk provides immediate relief, but causes problems later on.
