In Philadelphia today, an image went around of cops and national guard kneeling with protesters. Meanwhile, that same day about 5 blocks away, KYW News has confirmed that police fired tear gas from a helicopter at protesters. They then cornered them against a fence, and the cops on the ground fired some more tear gas at them for shits at giggles.
Tonight, about 1.5 miles away from there and about 5 blocks from me, cops empowered a racist mob of white vigilantes with baseball bats to roam the streets after curfew and threaten peaceful protesters.
Guess which part is getting the most news coverage?
This is half a mile from me. My old place in Philly was within a quarter mile of where they are. I’ve been shaking with anger the last couple hours and on the verge of tears. I’m full of so much hate and anger, and so much sadness I can’t process it.
Around 300 active duty military are in DC, but have not been deployed. The CNN lawbro guested the reason was because there is no governor to ask permission from.
This thing gets worse and worse every day. It’s hard to see how this plus the next 12 months or so(if we are lucky) of Covid raging plus the complete insanity of MAGA culture that is probably 100m Americans plus the other 100m chunk of the people rightfully turning against police and the government isn’t just a completely century defining event for the US
Idk. I was watching something else but she was standing right by the cops talking about being fine because they knew her then heard her say something about being media then feed stopped and chat said she got arrested. Tried to rewind it but the part I missed was not playing.
So many rumors about people being bussed in from Chicago (LOL) to either target white neighborhoods, or white supremacists trying to instigate violence. I don’t believe any of that shit.
I have heard many gunshots but thus far everyone has had poor aim, hopefully that continues
On the stream I’m watching the streamer was marching with a crowd and like 20 cruisers all came at once and a helicopter came right down to almost street level over the crowd causing them all to disperse. Trees swaying and shit blowing all over. It went down the street then came back and did it again two minutes later. But they just walked by a long line of police and the cops let them walk past and it didn’t look like they were trying to arrest anyone or confront anyone.
