On a weekly work call today, the founder of my company said two things:
- “Black lives matter. Full stop.”
- “I consider you all family, and I am worried about you, and if you are ok.”
I burst into tears.

Do you agree with my basic premise? That any large society needs an organization to enforce law on behalf of govt.
That’s what it looks like to me.
So there’s some sort of a protest thingy that’s scheduled to happen at the park where I’m about to go to for my daily walk. I’m not expecting much drama.

So, a street fair got cancelled and the local paper’s comments contain many people being called Karen. All by other females.

GF and I were discussing this last night. Rather than potentially helping some corporate/centrist dems that probably contribute to making things worse, I was hoping to find some better orgs than ActBlue. I believe someone here (@wookie?) mentioned donating to the NLG. Others that came to mind or that showed up when I searched:
- NAACP Legal Defense Fund
- The Bail Project
- ACLU
- community bail funds for [insert city here] (check before donating–some have had a surge in recent days and are asking that donators use their money elsewhere)
8pm in LA. We need some incremental steps towards freedom. What do we want? 830pm. When do we want it? Pretty soon.

I am simultaneously joyous and grateful for other countries joining in and outraged that people on the other side of the world care more about injustice than most white people here in America.

Saw something, not from the news though, that live rounds are authorized tonight in LA.
They must have malfunctioned. 
Imagine the power of the image if just five or 10 soldiers and cops showed up in Minneapolis in full uniform with no weapons, walked arm in arm to the front of the crowd, got between the rest of the protesters and the cops/national guard, knelt, and said, “Do what you’re going to do, but we’re not moving.”
Regardless of the outcome, it would be such a powerful moment.
