They profit directly from table games. The series is a loss leader in banquet halls without that level of surveillance infrastructure

If cellphones are the reason the rule is unenforceable, then the laptop is even more unnecessary. Cellphones are more than adequate for looking at hand histories.

Pretty even handed discussion on Polk with keating and Dnegs. Generally agree, we need the rule even though enforcement is close to impossible in most situations.
No one is running sims for spots until ICM matters.
It would be absolutely fine to have a FT specific rule.
I don’t know what you’re considering “sims”, but I can see lots of scenarios where people might want computer assistance to determine shove/call ranges in bubble or ladder spots that could happen well before the final table.
