He’s played in the softest high stakes games in Asia for over a decade and still owes a ton of money to multiple people. Idk a fair conclusion is he’s probably not that good.

yeah, just because he wasn’t a fish on High Stakes Poker 15 years ago doesn’t mean he’s not now. I think its very likely he’s somewhere around break even in the games he plays now and then has huge leaks at sports betting and craps.

It’s as reasonable to guess at Dwan’s winrate in non-televised cash games as it is to guess at Hellmuth’s.
Contrary to the claim above. I have a mountain of evidence as to his skill in cash games just like I do for hellmuth.
while we never have enough sample to judge ‘fish on a heater’, Dwan is also far and away the biggest winner on Hustlers Casino Live ever. Up 3 million dollars in 104 hours of live stream. So take it however you want, but his tv poker heater is still going on as those games are all in the last 2 years.
It’s also possible to be a big winner in normal high stakes games and get wrecked in ultra high stakes, variance fest games. Who knows.
my unbased take is that he seems to be more of a sociopath than a broke fish.

We don’t need to see enough sample size. We have the opinions of people who have played with them for 20 years. I can’t think of a pro who calls dwan a fish and I can’t think of a pro who claims hellmuth is good at cash games.
I think on the spectrum might be a better guess.
i don’t see it. he has a very long and detailed history of screwing people over, including friends, showing no remorse, gaslighting them and disappearing for years. Rinse repeat. Whenever he speaks out he seems very much in control of the situation just not giving a fuck. Surely that also describes your average asshole, but something feels more clinical there to me.

Not saying he’s a fish, but if he were a fish who owed a lot of people a lot of money, would there be pressure to not call him a fish publicly?
