In the golden age of Portland card rooms, in one room, not even the biggest room, you paid ten dollar DAILY rake, and every 2 hours from noon to 8pm (sometimes 10pm) inclusive, a new tourney started with an entry between 40 and 200 dollars
And they would all get lots of entries. This was like 2012ish
I still know the guy who crushed those games the hardest, and he’s still around in the card rooms, but it’s a different scene today
