This is pretty nuts.
I don’t think I’ve ever played a single hand of that game.

Is it his best game or is Dutch Boyd just bad at it? It’s a good game to grind down an opponent if you have a chip lead.
Basic strategy is to play for the badugi and try to back into a low-ball hand. The fish play strong lowball-only hands that can’t make a badugi and end up getting free rolled a ton.
if you’re dealt 2 3 4 7 A , do you keep the 7?
I think so. You don’t need a four card badugi to scoop, sometimes a good three card will win, especially heads up. The ace is high only in badeucey, so the best badugi is 2345 and you have the best three-card badugi hand.
I think that hand is strong enough to three bet before the first draw with the intention of tossing the ace.
No clue. Quite an achievement from chad
I would have said the same but I’m not sure. What kind of shape are you in if you’re up against 248 badugi drawing 2 three times?
and what if you pull a Q on the first draw? Is that a pat and you give up on on the low? Or now throw the 7?
interesting game
Some of the questions you ask depend on position and how many cards your opponent is drawing. I would toss the queen, but I’m not an expert.
this feels inconsistent with where this started, which is why I asked to begin with
didn’t think you were an expert on this game. we’re just talking here.
The main thing is that your 234 wins the badugi half a decent percentage of the time in a heads up pot while your queen isn’t that likely to win the lowball half. If your opponent draws one, there’s a decent chance they have a better badugi and are free rolling you for low if you pat. If they draw two, you know you’re ahead on badugi with the best low draw. If you’re out of position, it’s tough to bet and you have reverse implied odds.
Thank you friend

It’s not Main Event time yet, is it?
A few years ago I played some version of this and my table was literally in the storeroom of some kitchen.
If I did that, I’d be sure karma was about to bite me on the ass … he went on to win though.
Some kind of a brain illusion, reading the hand history above I thought the wheel was the winner also for a second. Had to go back to see the 6.
