No. Range advantage means having more strong hands. Nut advantage means being more likely to make the actual nuts.

I’m pretty sure that NBZ is right - at least his definition matches with the training sites I have used.

What is Nut Advantage?

A player has a nut advantage when he has more combinations of super strong hands (two-pair or better) than his opponent.

What is Range Advantage?

The player whose range has the most equity has a range advantage.

Interesting I am finding both dentitions.

However in the context of the discussion today range advantage is not relevant. The point AQ was making was about the actual nuts not stronger hand.

NBZ is absolutely correct.

You are conflating nut advantage with playability (board coverage).

This is not what we have been discussing. Nothing about todays discussion is about board advantage.

We are talking about deep stack play. He just randomly changed the topic.

People were discussing Polk’s huge overbet bluff. Nut advantage is a big factor in those spots. It’s also pretty obvious that it’s part of the discussion of this game in particular, as the most interesting spots are most likely going to involve huge overbet bluffs/value bets.

Rampage’s huge bluff is a good example which also involved Handz who has been involved in 3 of these spots. Are we watching the same stream?

This question is part of the topic.

If you want to talk about exploitative play, it helps to understand how you’re deviating.

We are talking theoretical play in absence of any specific hand or board. The definitions posted from solve for why assume a board. In our discussion there is no difference between nut and range advantage using those definitions because there is no board or positional information.

The point AQ and I were discussing is actual nuts and an argument you want to be able to make the actual nuts more often the deeper you get.

It’s illogical to talk about making two pair or better in the context of a discussion with no hand, board, or positional information.

Wsop started. 25k 6 max final 9 has cheater jake schindler in it. Gonna be a fun start if he wins it

Amazing they are not banned. So dumb of WSOP. Just the ultimate negative freeroll for them. Tiny amount of revenue from rake, massive PR downside.

He already won a bracelet last year, didn’t seem to hurt WSOP business

WSOP only bans people for things that happen at WSOP events, I believe.

Interesting. Was that after the news of his cheating scandal?

Imsirovic made a deep run in the WSOP main event and Schindler won his first bracelet, all while dodging verbal jabs from some of the angrier high roller players.

In 2013, bracelet winner David Diaz was at a Harrah’s property when, with a little help from alcohol, he shed his nice guy image for the night. Diaz allegedly got blackout drunk and began harassing people and causing some unwelcome chaos. His WSOP participation was terminated due to a Harrah’s-wide property ban.

My bad, Panzica was banned for threats made at the RIO but lefty was at Harrahs when he caught the ban

Posted with Dwan’s consent, he said.

The factor of Polk seeing Wesley’s hand, and his reaction/their interaction afterward, was an interesting twist. Although he remained stone-faced, I almost feel like Polk should’ve left the table until the hand was over after he folded.

I would guess he is merely banned from Caesars properties and he could play at a WSOP circuit event held at a non-Caesars property.
