No, because the “Maga people” like Guiliani had terrible reputations! Posting someone with a sterling reputation in the poker community is the exact opposite of this.
So I’m like a MAGA poster now? You’re going to go back to the name calling?
And Rast’s credibility in poker is on par with Rudy Giuliani’s on election security? That’s absurd.
Not exactly. It was shown moments later that there’s no evidence on video of a rigged seat draw. That’s different from being proven totally false. It’s not high quality video, it’s not zoomed in, and there’s no audio.
As I said after watching the video: I don’t think the seat draw was rigged, but if they find something fishy with Seat 2 or Seat 7 during the investigation, they should go back to the seat draw from every angle.
I’m pretty sure they never showed the 4 seat draw, not that it’s a big deal, but no I don’t think the entire seat draw was on the stream.
Nobody ITT is assuming the seat draw was staged. You’re just making up positions for me then trashing me for holding the made up positions.
This is 100% the correct take, no doubt. I probably skipped 500 posts in the middle and jumped back in just now and I don’t even know why. It’s a sickness that is evidently widespread lol.
You mostly play online, right? I’m following this closely because I want to be on top of the latest information on game integrity in live poker. I’m probably paying too much attention, but I’m very interested in what some of the most informed people in the industry think about game security and cheating methods regardless of whether they are relevant to this case at all, and a bunch of them are getting interviewed on streams.
Dude this topic should be discussed over a drink with friends or something and that’s it and the two of you have taken it to a pretty obsessive cringe worthy level of fixation.
This is much closer to Trump decrying things they don’t like “fake news” than you seem to realize.
The entire poker community is split on this issue. There are a ton of very smart, respected people taking up both sides. You’re getting emotionally invested in the issue and making it into some generation defining microcosm for no reason.
CW is also getting overly invested! Formula is correct here, but he ponied me so screw him.
There were also a lot of anti Magnus people in the chess world 2 weeks ago. There was a less evidence of cheating there than here imo.
Yeah, online only at this point basically. I’m not saying you shouldn’t stay on top of the latest and greatest cheating methods to protect yourself, I just find it odd that y’all have been going at it for probably close to 1k posts with 0 hope of either side being convinced.
Don’t worry I am officially done addressing CW itt. I’d hoped we would have an absolute minimum standard of not leaving up known false statements about real people but we failed that absolute lowest of low bars so I guess 🤷.
Cheers to him.
I think that’s a dumb point for cw, but the amount this mirrors the recent chess cheating scandal is quite interesting to me.
Both times, best player in the game accuses someone else of cheating with very limited “evidence.”
Chess guy is now fucked, evidence has come out and they’re a lying scumbag. This is more likely to go the Postle route where people believe what they believe (yes, there is much less evidence here than in that case).
Are there people that followed it that believe Postle wasn’t cheating (that aren’t Postle or his friends)? It’s been a while since I checked up on that one but at the end it was a slam dunk.
I checked back on the 2p2 thread when it was announced the charges got dropped or whatever and there were defenders/skeptics. I didn’t want to spend time arguing on NVG though.
Did Matusow ever come around and say Postle was cheating? IIRC he was adamant that he was not cheating.
I forgot he did that softball interview with him. Lol Matusowaments.
You legitimately just had to look at the winrate and see he was doing better than Potripper, and that really should have been all there was to it, case closed! The dude was either a real life mindreader or a cheat.
you NEVER go full nvg
It’s been discussed. It’s the hand where her chair vibrated while she tanked on the river and then folded.
People are claiming that was her getting a signal to fold and that she floated flop (with only a backdoor flush draw) and then called turn with flush draw, knowing she was behind but hoping to catch up.
I agree with your assessment that the hand (particularly the flop call) makes no sense from a cheating standpoint but does make sense that she wanted to own Garrett by catching him bluffing.
The hand would make sense from a cheating standpoint if she didn’t know actual hole cards and was just getting ahead/behind or yes/no information. Like she could have been considering bluffing, signaled that, and got the no. But, it also doesn’t match her style of play across the other streams.
From a no cheating standpoint, the hand would make sense to show she’s out to get Garrett for some reason - either to own the GOAT or because she doesn’t like him for some reason.
This weekend someone bluffed me off bottom set in a limped pot for 200bb because I’d been playing too aggressively and they just really wanted to own me. And it worked. Happens all the time.
Sure but they usually don’t minraise you with total air that loses to half the draws, then call your overbet turn jam anyway because “Fuck you here’s 135bb, that’s why!”
