The actual funny comparison between postle and Robbi is postle went for more than a year blatantly and obviously cheating and it wasn’t called out. Robbi plays one admittedly insane hand on her third ever session and here we are 10,000 posts into it and 47 hours of podcast and live YouTube streams.
It doesn’t take a phd in social science to figure out why that might be.
You’d need the same blowup for it to get covered, and I think Garrett is only blowing up at someone new/unknown. It’s just not happening to someone he has history with.
360k is an insane amount for a lot of people. If this hand was $5k or something it’s never getting covered, but do you remember when you got into poker and told friends you made $500 or whatever and how jealous/happy they were? The money here is huge.
I really think we need to be looking more into the possibility that Garrett has been cheating all this time and has been hiding it better than Postle.

I’ll admit I’ve wondered it a couple of times, and I also believe someone as smart as he is (or most of this forum is) would be able to get away with it forever.
I also think his reaction to this makes it 0.0% that he’s cheating.
Him and Andy have lost tons of 6 figure pots to each other and others if you’ve watched LATB for the last few years.
Garrett lost a 6 figure pot to Mariano last week for example, was down 200k the night before this session.
Maybe he and Andy are in it together.
Sure - but more often than not he’s right in these big pots. If you’re smart with your cheating, you wouldn’t be 100% right, just right enough to still rake in huge profits.
His reaction seemed a bit weird to me, like he was thinking his own methods were being used against him.
Galfond covers the Bayesian logic so well I won’t reiterate but I’ll add that if we are actually being progressives who should be aware our our own biases and those of the social structure we should be far more careful in levelling cheating accusations at a women in poker. Same reason a cop should second guess themselves if they are pulling over a black man.
We know there is a implicit bias to assume a young beautiful women playing in a big game can’t be legit. Even if we don’t think this consciously we know enough to understand unconscious bias.
This fact alone should make our null hypothesis that she didn’t cheat.
If Gman was cheating on the stream, he’d have to be brain dead to call her out for cheating and trigger an investigation into it.
He’s “right” more by buying in for 200k+ in a 200/400 game and putting people all in when they basically always have one pair holdings. He’s the best at aggressively mixing up huge bets with made hands and bluffs. It’s not like they’re some passive player picking off bluffs. They’re just very aggressive and have deep pockets and play vs the right lineups.
He knows how to bluff. It’s by putting people to difficult decisions when they have mediocre hands/a capped range. It’s not by calling off with Jack high.
What about the biases of people who don’t think she’s young and not really beautiful?
The basic assumption of those who think that she is probably cheating is that no one, not even the dumbest woman, would ever make a play that dumb, so it has to be cheating. The assumption of those who believe she is probably not cheating is that, yes, she can be that dumb.
Or he could have done a really dumb thing because he was emotionally triggered and lost control of himself.
Has anyone argued against the claim that Garrett was ready to go back into the game and play until Rip got into it with him?
He also crushed it online before transitioning to live, and had a reputation as one of the best players in the LA area before the streams were a thing. So him consistently crushing it on stream is in line with what would have been expected. His style of play didn’t change, from what I’ve heard, either. (Based mostly on what DGAF has said about him.)
