only way to play the J high call there is to play really dumb I guess, though you do beat a few hands, garrett gotta stop posting in gto terms with players who are obviously not professionals, that stuff irrelevant (ie she can’t call cause she doesn’t beat most of my range, she’s obviously not thinking like that) I’ve definitely seen pros make this mistake to recs over the years.

garrett found an angleshoot if you lose a big pot and can get someone to just pay you to not deal with it just accuse them of cheating
don’t agree with more of his analysis, we’ve all seen people fold like a nit for hours than massively punt tilt out of nowhere raises/calls/whatever I’ve seen it
she could’ve cheated sure, but at least one full page he wrote was a big fat nothingburger

An odd contradiction in Garrett’s post is that at the beginning, he says he knows she understands she can’t make that call. But then at the end, he says she didn’t know at first that it would be obvious she was cheating, because she doesn’t understand poker well enough.
Not proof of anything other than Garrett should have just slept on it and not rushed a big long post.
I mean how many recs know enough to have a strategy that calls Jc4x on that flop, but not enough to understand how awful the turn call is? She also changes her story multiple times… She called a 2x pot overbet jam cause she thought he had A high? Which she’s at best 12% against? She didn’t have a pair, then later she claimed she thought she had a pair? She called cause she had the J clubs? Then once she knew that was stupid, it was she called flop for that reason then just soul read the turn?
sure that’s total word salad, but I remember the good old days of people explaining things
like I don’t blame him for being sus and leave I might’ve done the same thing, but don’t presume people that don’t seem to play like pros are magically cheating cause they aren’t thinking like one and called ridiculously on you, I’ve seen more than enough **** that guy calls with whatever the heck

I mean during the hand she rechecked her cards, after the call she said a couple things that indicated that she didn’t have a pair, then after the hand when there was controversy she said she thought she had a pair. That’s a major change to her story.
Recs don’t have that BECAUSE they have button-clicking floats based on timing and feelings, not ranges.
At some point in her word salad she cited having backdoor straight and flush draws on the flop as justification for her call.
And you choose to believe that this shows she understands how to construct a flop calling range to include some backdoors, rather than just being a phrase she’s heard before, despite all the rest of the word salad being nonsense? This is the one part that shows her grasp of poker concepts?
And somehow there’s a person in this world who DOES understand range construction in theory and practice but does NOT understand that the turn call makes it obvious she’s cheating?
All of your explanations for her turn call is that cheaters are stupid. Is she stupid or not stupid? Why did she not cheat in any of the earlier hands?
She doesn’t have to understand how to construct a range, just that she can float some hands like that.

I didn’t watch the earlier stream. Some cheaters get greedy and get caught. We’ve seen it time and time again. Postle and potripper are the best examples. They could have gotten away with it forever, but they got too greedy.
There’s no way she was cheating, I’ve seen here on stream a couple of times and she is just very inexperienced imo. Those who think she cheated are filtering everything that happened through poker pro logic, but that doesn’t come naturally to new or bad players. I played quite a few times before I even understood that you should think about showdown value when deciding what hands to bluff. Super bad look for Garrett but I think he will come around and give it back.
My initial read was that she is just clueless but after going back and watching some more hands I think there is a higher chance that there is cheating going on than I initally thought.
Haven’t seen her pay off rivers and she makes weird turn min raises with marginal hands. Another hand she turns weak pair into a bluff on the river when her hand suddenly wasn’t the best anymore. I also thought her speech asking for Ryu to show one card seemed fake to me.
FWIW I’m in a group chat w/ one guy who’s played in a lot of high stakes games w/ whales, and he said he wouldn’t have paid the bet and would have racked up and left because it’s 100% cheating, another friend in the chat has played nosebleeds, including some live streams, he says he’s not super confident but leans towards it being cheating.
Finally watched the relevant part of the stream and listened to the table talk and I feel like the best explanation is that she’s rich and dumb.

First of all, she owes no one an explanation, but the one she gave is that she misread her hand. The entire argument against her is that she couldn’t have misread her hand because she looked at it. Like what? I’ve looked at my cards multiple times in a hand and still misread them, he is smart enough to know what a stupid argument that is.
“her story keeps changing.” like ok, what? who does she owe an explanation to for a bad call? now she’s simultaneously having to defend herself against serious accusations and risk being kicked out of the game or worse, and ALSO preserve enough of her own game without giving too much away about it. Like, every single thing against her is just obvious incel chat wanting to rage at a hot dumb girl.
I agree with bruce the most likely explanation is she most likely has more money than sense. I can’t even think of a plausible mechanism of cheating her that would result in such play.
