I’ve had 2 martinis (suck it gin haters)
I’d troll the chat a bit about it but it appears it’s synced with my google and is displaying my full name. Not sure I’m ready for that scrutiny yet.
Off to fix another another martini.

what do you do if this is you?
Go broke.
I lost in identical fashion. Flopped set of jacks losing to runner-runner deuces. Mine was at 3/6 limit early in to my poker playing days.
Shrug and move on to the next hand.
lol you mental monster.
I might even chuckle because I legit find it funny.
I don’t have the mental fortitude for that disciplined type of play, unfortunately.
It’s not discipline so much as it is being an emotionally broken and dead person inside.
Theres a 200k event in Cyprus now. A triton series tourney with 40 “business men” who each got to “invite” a “pro”.
All pros and amateurs are in seperared tables for day 1. A guy i know got an invite from James Bord.
Most of the invites seems bullshit of course. Like some turkish dude inviting ben86. Im sure they hang out alot.
I’m sure many (most) of them don’t really know a pro. Like if I had to invite somebody I would invite Sauce, or hell maybe even Handz, despite not knowing either personally.
Being a pro at that level involves sucking up to the amateurs so they want to play with you. I think Negreanu talked about it on a previous podcast where they discussed a previous tournament with the same setup. In some cases, I think the pro is a guy who coaches them and maybe ghosts for them.
final table starting now. 5.5m for first. two amateurs left. One of them is chip leader though. LLinus 2nd in chips. Ebony Kenney is still in, she is considered a pro but i don’t think she ever played anything over 10k.
Yesterday Chris Brewer who is some american pro bubbled after he misread the action (he called an 8.5 bb shove from Ebony in the BB with AJo not seeing that she actually 3b over an open). He proceeded by crying at the table. There’s no crying in poker!
I’ve really enjoyed watching this event. Junglemans table last night was hilarious.
i used to play there often before we moved to the US (although we’re back now so i might go again in November). Used to be the best place in the world to play tournaments. Ton of arab whales, no pros, all inclusive resorts for free (when you play the events).
It’s nowhere near as soft as it used to be, but still a great place.
(this specific hotel is a brand new and super impressive from what i’ve heard)
my guess is that they closed in advance with everyone if they have a partner or no. Clearly Ebony Kenney was indeed Phil Nagy’s choice (i assume he’s staking her). Some guys are actually close (like the Iranian and Albert Daher, even though neither should count as pros, but albert likes to play against tough opponents).
Most of them i assume were just matched by Triton in advance. No way would people fly from the US if they didn’t know they can get a seat.
Otoh I know Barak who played it and he only knew he can get a seat while in cyprus so i dunno.
Chappe is getting hit in the face with the deck.
grafton wins it hu vs LLinus. seems like a nice guy. i assume he was heavily staked here.
What do you think of a poker room instituting these changes?

if they have the amount of clients for it thats great. otherwise it seems like the 2-5 and 5-5 will be cannibalizing quite a bit.
