There’s also some descriptions of the emotional damage from victims that’s pretty fucked up. I played on UB in 2004-05 and bum hunted Devilfish in 200 and 400PLO. He was so easy to play against. Just float and get there or take the pot away on the river. Win small pots, lose big ones. No way he was in god mode ever.

I’ll have to check it out, I didn’t know much about that scandal until recently because I never played on Absolute or UB aside from one $25 deposit on AB. I was on Party, Pacific, and Stars. Lucked out to avoid Full Tilt too cause I thought the avatars looked silly.
Had a day 2 WSOP table with one of the guys directly implicated in the Absolute Poker side of it, and Shannon Shor was at the table. Forget if he lost a lot of money or had friends who did, but he went in on the guy. The dude tried to bullshit and Shannon was having none of it. It was both amazing and deeply uncomfortable.
My biggest takeaway every time I read about it or watch the Potripper video is how insanely stupid they were to be so brazen.
Perhaps the only part of poker he is actually good at is bankroll management. He doesn’t seem to gamble tons on sports or pit, although he did when younger according to his memoir. I bet he is doing fine financially.

He also seems good at game selection. He’ll talk a big game about challenging players to HU or whatever, but I don’t think he’s ever done a real challenge where he’s a huge dog (like DNengs, etc.). Also, while he does play some of the TV games, it seems he mostly avoids the crusher line-ups and waits for spots where there are at least a few rec players in the game. Similarly, it sounds like he plays lots of private cash games with rich recs.

His hu series on PokerGO he has been sunrunning as a massive dog. He plays High rollers sometimes too where he is for sure bottom 10% of the field.
Dude is totally delusional. He doesn’t play rich famous guy games as game selection. He does it 100% for his fragile ego as he gets nearly his entire self worth from the off glow of famous people “liking him”. That’s why he constantly name drops.
I wonder if the casino is letting all these guys make content during the game too. Could be interesting.
