Poker Hands and Strategy

I dislike everything up until the river check, where any bluff is just "hope I can represent JJxx.

Any villain should be heavily weighted towards busted combo draws.
Turn is better as a CR

Anyone folding J8 in this spot should quit poker.

“I don’t 3b AKQ10 dbl bc most ppl would fold and I wouldn’t have to navigate 6 way flops” is just bait

You sound like the 80 year old guys playing aces for set value in Holdem!

anyone want to explain the Boss tournament on ACR to me?

Also all the tournies on ACR last 8-11 hours wtf man, aint nobody got time for that. Give me that 6 hour action

BOSS is just the name of the tournament series. They have their regular Online Super Series (OSS), the smaller Mini Online Super Series (MOSS) and the larger Bigger Online Super Series (BOSS).

it seems like tourney hadn’t started though and people already had different chip amounts?

It’s Day 2 of the multi-day main event.

Playing 5/10/25, 5k+ stacks, I’m stuck pretty big, i get JQhh in the straddle, some limpers, I pop it to 150, the mega fish calls. Flop 9 10 K two clubs, I bet 175, he min clicks me. Omg omg it’s happening! I just call. Turn: brick, he bets 400, I CR to 1400. Everyone at the table knows I have it here, except the spot of course. He snap calls. Clean runout one time! River 10c. Puke. I check, he jams. Pretty easy fold. Its 99. Aghhgghh one card away from any easy 10k pot scooperoo, fml. Then he racks up with his 8k and the game breaks. Gahhh, so tilted

Aaaand we’re back to 2/5…

But seriously, Florida poker is the nuts

1/3 - $6 button straddle

+1 calls
+2 (hero) QQ raises to $45

4 callers. Flop comes K77 rainbow

Checks around to BB who rips it for $115 all in. Folds to me with 1 person behind me left to act. He has $300 behind and I have him covered

Hero shoves all in.

Thoughts?

At the 1/3 tables I normally play at, you only beat BB if he’s a complete dumbass.

He is.

This is a loose table filled with absolute fish.

With games like this, who needs a new casino?

For this shove to make sense, you need the parlay of BB shoving with worse hands and the last player having hands that beat you that would call $115 but fold to a shove. There aren’t any hands you beat that you want to fold out. I’m not sure if it matters whether the player behind you is SB and has already checked, because he probably would be checking Kx and 7x hands.

It’s weird for BB to shove here with a pocket pair smaller than kings when he didn’t do so preflop. The same holds true for a lot of Ax hands. I think you should just fold if the game is loose-passive, but it’s hard for me to construct a range you want to be against unless BB is the type who rarely raises pre and bluffs too much in multi-way pots with dry boards.

No shit. I wish I found this game years ago.

This is a zero draw board. Seems very rare even at these stakes you are good here. Sometimes he shows up with 1010 or something but this seems rare.

In a game like this there will be way better spots to win the money.

The irony is that the casino probably kills this game and makes you overall game options worse.

shoving is the worst option. are you trying to bluff the last remaining player? i don’t mind a call as much as others because i do see idiots shoving pocket pairs in these spots and it’s 115 into like 235. probably close enough to break even that calling is more fun than folding comes into play

Alright. I’m the fish :). He had KJo. My thought process was that he would have raised AK, I had blockers to KQ, and I assumed he would fold KJ. Lesson learned.

Did you put him on being a drooler who would have called pre with K5s?

Not an auto 3b in most low stakes player pool.
