Just now learning Sword and Scale isn’t a podcast about fantasy fiction. Mind blown.

New TrueAnon is an interview with the first Epstein victim that came forward. Absolutely heart breaking.

“Protestors carrying their guns around like big baby bottles” sent soda up my nose

It’s not even about their political instincts. It’s more that in spite of myself there’s only so much wonk I can take before I need something else to cleanse my palate and they deliver wonk, wonk, and nothing but wonk

The part where she broke up talking about how they were using her sisters pictures? Fuuuuuuuuk. So brutal. Most of the FBI stuff was infuriating too. I’m glad they boosted her story.

Nice change of pace in Chapo.

I suspect they’re running out of stuff to talk about.

Stavvy should probably replace Amber on the show.

This American Life won the first ever Pulitzer for broadcast journalism this week. It’s an episode from last year about the border crisis. Highly worth a listen.

My third (I think) and (I’m entirely sure) final attempt to listen to Red Scare has ended in failure, I must report. At the end of the day, you just want him to choke you and tell you to call him Daddy, and I mean, the whole like structure of liberal feminism is [five-second pause] like, founded on denying that. Hahaha! [sound of drink being poured]

I mean I’m all for critiques of liberal feminism, but eh, nah, I’m good thanks.

Matt Christman on Champagne Sharks this week. First part’s free, for any Christmaniacs who might want to try CS.

It’s a great ep. honestly I can’t recall ever hearing a bad one it’s must listen, and it has like a 25 year body of work so if I was gonna cut back to just one podcast it would be TAL

New Hardcore history out. I will say this series hasn’t been my favorite because I’m pretty meh on naval battles, although the first episode that went over Japans transition from basically a medieval country to a first world power in like 30 years was great and fucking wild they were able to do that.

Gonna agree with you on this one. I still think Ghosts of the Ostfront is the best series he’s done.

Finally listened to Krystal and Saagar on JRE and it was pretty good. I like Krystal and find myself agreeing with her a lot.

Thought he was gone for good.

Guess he got out of his rut.

Yeah, probably just needed a break for a while after the Sanders letdown.

Just noticed that Sean Carroll has a youtube where he’s been posting his recent “biggest ideas in the universe” lectures as well as his Mindscape podcasts. It’s high quality content. If you don’t know of his work, he’s a physics prof at Caltech with a strong interest in philosophy and science more broadly.

The two most recent episodes are on the (100) meaning of life and (101) viruses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiCXpyrXBEI

Bret Weinstein was on Rogan yesterday. I found the conversation interesting and he talked about some things I wasn’t expecting.

Rogan almost ruined the first hour to hour and a half for me. Bret kept trying to explain his thought process and Joe kept going “here is what I think blah blah blah blah blah blah”.

About an hour and 50 minutes in they talk corona virus and why Bret thinks it’s possible it came from a lab.

They also talk about the presidential candidates but it’s nothing that hasn’t been discussed everywhere.

Chapo Trap House gets a shoutout on the newest Patriot Act episode about 13 minutes in. Well, shoutout might not be the best word. But any exposure is good exposure.

This is also the only episode so far that I have disagreements with.

I just listened to the part about COVID. Another person telling Joe everyone should wear a mask. Days removed from Joe saying masks are for bitches :+1:t2:
