I am not sure it is fair to give yourself a pass for not taking their profile at face value but to get frustrated if someone doesn’t take yours at face value.
For the most part, I agree that if you’re 40, then she should take your posted stance seriously. Having said that, I have known a couple of approx 40-year-olds who claim that they would never have kids, who somehow have one by 50.
