That’s a you problem
Maybe it’s a good thing if cops are made to feel some terror in their hearts.
So a couple of things, and then I’m done. First of all, no. Neither I nor any of my coworkers were ever responsible for sending mugshots to the press. My only involvement with mugshots to the press was to try to get the police to not do that whenever possible because it tended to fuck up cases where ID was an issue. But that’s besides the point. I left law enforcement three years ago. You want to attack the poster and not the argument, fine, but it doesn’t change the fact that doxxing is a bad fucking idea, you could literally get an innocent person killed. But whatever, I’m done.
Cops were your coworkers friendo.
I’m not attacking the argument because the argument has some merit. I’m attacking the poster because he was part of a conspiracy to commit a hell of a lot of doxxing. You can be the gang member who says “I’m not sure it’s such a good idea if we rob this bank and kill all these people” and still get charged with the crime.
I have no problem with someone helping identifying his name. But what is the point of putting up his home address other than …
I was sincerely looking for some insight on the thought process. Based on the responses I am going to assume collateral damage is ok on the doxing front.
I’m not saying that position is wrong. I’m going to think about it more.
Wasn’t your title ״the tragic death of George Floyd”?
I guess so? I really think doxxing people is a terrible idea and I for sure don’t want anything to do with it.
The. Issue.was.not.identifying.the.police.officer.it.was.giving.out.a.home.address.
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: The police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders.
If it’s going to get done anyway it doesn’t matter who and the members of this community don’t need to worry that they are part of a some guy getting killed because the internet decided he was bad.
This post was hidden? Seriously? Fuck you ■■■■■ that think this needs to be hidden considering the circumstances this county finds itself in.
Some people could use some harassment. Honestly have you learned nothing since your “let the system work” comment which was how many years ago?
First its the right to give Starbucks employees covid-19 that turned this forum into a dark place. Now its supposedly one issue you disagree with (and not really happening anyway).
It’s this forum little version of “the protesters lost me when ”
It’s a pretty fair point that there’s essentially no other way that this cop could face any repercussions for nearly murdering someone.
Dude, nobody hid your post, the thread was moved.
yeah, I know you hate the cops, but it’s not different. You think there is some justice in vigilantes killing cops because all cops are bad. I don’t. You can’t ensure that an innocent isn’t going to get sucked into this by mistake and that’s not acceptable. And if you think it’s all cops then fuck you and your lazy thinking.
Yeah, I and someone else flagged it because he’s inciting violence against people and that’s not the kind of site I want to be part of.
take a break for the night man.
this “lemme hide my friends from justice long enough for there not to be justice” thing is a bad look.
stick up for your friends, you ain’t wrong for that. but this seems like the same hill every prosecutor would die to die on.
