I haven’t looked this up, but I’d wager a fair amount that her approval rating is higher with Democrats than Republicans right now.

I can see how people who think both parties are the same–that there’s one uni-party controlling things because both sides are in it together–might think it is possible, but those people are idiots.

What Biden voter would vote for her? The Republicans who actually voted for Biden last time? Just because her approval rating might be higher with Dems than it might be with Republicans, doesn’t mean any Dems would vote for her. I would think there were a lot more Republicans who didn’t want to vote for Trump who just didn’t vote or held their nose and voted for Trump than ones who voted for Biden. Those voters, the people who think Trump is a nincompoop, maybe those who don’t care as much about the culture war, but still own a lot of stock in fossil fuel companies and think the Earth can get fucked would vote for Cheney.
That’s a lot of words, but I think “3rd party always hurts us” is something people tend to reflexively feel.
It sounds like she’s thinking about making a principled run in the primary. I actually do not think she would run in the general as a third party if she thought it would help trump. It does seem clear that she fucking hates him

I’d rather see Republicans nominate Trump instead of DeSantis.
If Trump runs there will be no primary debates. It’ll be like 2020. The RNC will endorse and go all-in for him.
It’s up to Trump whether or not he wants to debate. What are they going to do, knock him off ballots if he doesn’t debate?

Well, it’s not impossible, but I think it’s pretty darn unlikely.
