Omnibus January 6 Insurrectionist Thread

If they “plan” to go to court to fight executive privilege to get the evidence they feel they need to indict Trump then I predictit the DOJ will change course and not indict him when Trump appoints Rudy Giuliani to lead the investigation during his second term. I’m sure the Supreme Court will hear an expedited appeal on the executive privilege claims sometime in 2035.

Does this mean that trump’s lawyers think Meadows is cooperating with DOJ?

We ARE on the road to accountability though the road is long, unpaved & filled w/treacherous potholes…

We ARE on the trail, though the trail is washed out, ominous, and full of Lime disease ticks, to the road to accountability though the road is long, unpaved & filled w/treacherous potholes…

We ARE at the trailhead, though the trailhead sign is sun bleached and hanging by one bolt, unable to be discerned, on the trail, though the trail is washed out, ominous, and full of Lime disease ticks, to the road to accountability though the road is long, unpaved & filled w/treacherous potholes…

We ARE on the single file beaten path, though it is wooded and filled with bandits to take us where we will be at the trailhead, though the trailhead sign is sun bleached and hanging by one bolt, unable to be discerned, on the trail, though the trail is washed out, ominous, and full of Lime disease ticks, to the road to accountability though the road is long, unpaved & filled w/treacherous potholes…

Straka moved with the crowd to the steps of the Capitol building during the Jan. 6 riot and was filming on his smartphone. According to a statement of offense Straka signed and agreed to as part of his plea, he yelled “go, go, go” as members of the mob tried to enter the building, and said “take it, take it,” after rioters grabbed a shield from a police officer.

“I vehemently denied that was my voice, to my attorney. I was in shock when I was accused of that,” Straka told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. He said he was under intense pressure to sign a plea deal including that allegation in order to resolve the case. “I have now confessed to doing those things,” he said.

Ah well at least the judge unleashed a tirade, thats as serious as prison.

Lawbros unanimously agree pissing off the judge is suicide yet nothing ever happens to people who do that. Weird

Well, they do lose the cases? Don’t they?

Fyp

I’m sure many a young black youth has been given a harsher sentence for “not respecting” the judge or something

Pissing off the judge in front of the jury is suicide. Juries generally are going to like the judge. If they get hte sense that the judge feels one way or another about hte case it’s going to influence them.

Come on, Alex Jones openly mocked the judge and called her a pedo or similar, not going to look it up, spent his entire time on the stand lying his ass off, and his big punishment is a judgment that will get reduced to peanuts before never being paid? Wow, terrifying

In fairness to jman’s take, the jury absolutely slammed him with a big punishment. So they clearly didn’t like Alex Jones. Your issue (and mine) is with the stupid caps on penalties that are going to save him like $44M of the $45M or whatever it was. The reason openly mocking the judge didn’t hurt him was because the system in Texas sucks, not because it didn’t impact the jury’s view of him.
