It’s not as if Trump stole the election successfully, so it sounds like if Pence had spoken out nothing would have fundamentally changed.
If Trump would have been successful but for Pence speaking out forcefully then he would have done something important, but if that’s what it took then our institutions were already FUBAR.

The problem is too that once the dam breaks, it breaks. If they can pull it off in one state and only one state and they don’t get hauled into court on sedition then all the states will do it. The pressure to rig the winner will be too much.
