Perhaps there are some texts/recorded conversations or something between Trump officials, Congressmen, and such that are a bit more direct. Not expecting much, but surely there has to be more than his public speech which is obviously nothing.
The commission should just run the HBO doc in prime time on every major network. Much more effective than what they’re doing.
I don’t get this. The place to “prove” that Trump knew he lost, and where that truly matters, is in an actual court. They’re on TV here confusing the reach and the capabilities of the J6 committee with what an actual prosecution could/must do. If Raskin was talking to Man on the Street here the person would ask, “so then you can charge him right?”
I get increasingly frustrated at stuff like this where it seems like the committee is trying to convince DoJ to take this up and no one, including the committee, knows what the fuck DoJ is doing. So nothing new.
A really common mistake in sales is to make a sales pitch that persuades you (the seller) based on what you want to hear, but because you don’t really know your audience (the buyer) it doesn’t appeal to the buyer. That may be the core heuristic that is making the commission land flat - it has been designed to be persuasive to eDems, but not to anyone else. The only people that would find this kind of clunky procedural Congressional commission persuasive are people that have such deep faith in America’s institutions that they are kind of awed by the mere fact that this is a Congressional commission (WOW! BOOM!). It’s basically an appeal to peoples’ inherent respect for Congress, which is loltastic if the intended audience is the average Joe or basically anyone other than firm eDems.
By far the most powerful parts of the commission are the videos of the violence of the insurrection. That kind of visceral, emotional appeal would land with the general public if the eDems could get people actually look at the levels to which the Republican party has descended. I actually think the kind of thing @Trolly is asking for (a concise, clear explanation) would be of less value, since even a concise and clear explanation is beyond the attention span of the average Joe. But it would still be better than whatever it is they are doing now that is designed to awe lawbros.
I, for one, think the commission needs to wheel out a bulletin board with a big picture of Trump’s face at the top, which is connected to other pictures of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, etc. by pieces of red string.

“enough evidence for the Justice Department to consider…”
LOL
Every time I read shit like this I consider stabbing myself in the eye with a fork
It’s to the point where I’m starting to gaslight myself into wondering if the “mainstream media is fake news” people are onto something. All of these supposedly well sourced articles that make it seem nearly certain these people did all the crimes, then no accountability whatsoever. I’m really supposed to believe that a Dem DOJ doesn’t give a flying fuck about a GOP Congressman child sex trafficking?
Like this isn’t advancing political goals of corporations type “they’re in on it” this is Pizzagate type they’re in on it.
matt gaetz is so fucked
Why not? What’s in it for the DOJ if they go hard after Matt Gaetz? To us “outsiders”, it seems like the whole purpose of having a DOJ is to prosecute crimes in the public interest, but from the point of view of managers at the Dem DOJ the DOJ is just a department to manage with resources and projects and PowerPoint slides and Zoom meetings. They’re not motivated to prosecute Republicans the way that Republicans want to prosecute Dems, because the Dems are basic corporate manager types at heart and the Republicans are zealots.
Q-Anon Horseshoe Theory. The most deranged and the most aware people essentially think the same thing.
The thing with Trump is that he always seems to be one step removed from the actual, caught red-handed, no doubt about it, illegal decision or other bullshit. He always has some sort of plausible deniability or close to it. It’s always someone else who came up with a plan, made a decision, etc., and somehow Trump didn’t really know the full extent of it until later.
Also, I think it’s kind of accepted that he’s way too dumb to engineer a massive coup or grand plan of any sort on his own. The thing he does is run his fucking mouth and everyone follows him and does his bidding for him.
Both can be true. The mainstream media is right wing propaganda, and eDems are in on, or don’t care about pizzagaetz stuff. Bill Clinton probably fucked kids at Epstein island!
Apparently his wife is dropping a kid.
“An inebriated Rudy Giuliani?” Did I hear that right?
Not watching, but Rupar thinks you heard correctly:
