The key to understanding cruises is most people prefer whats familiar to them and low stress over adventure. Not just for vacations either. My vacation tastes have moved on, but I still enjoyed my cruises.
I love travel where you stay in locals places and avoid all tourist areas. I also love cruises. Different kinds of fun.
Cruises are about stuffing yourself with great food, relaxing by the pool and spending some time drinking on the beach.

We did an Alaska cruise and it was astonishingly beautiful but still not very fun. Iāll never go on another cruise unless/until Iām too old to move around.
Iāve heard smaller cruises can be awesome but theyāre mega expensive. Not hard to imagine a 50 person Mediterranean cruise that bypasses the tourist traps and has great food being a bucket list experience.
A good portion of the joy I get is being on the ship. Having morning coffee on the balcony looking out at the ocean. I love it.
