Can’t recommend Boccaccio’s The Decameron enough. It’s from 14th Century Italy and is 100 stories like that one. Usually involving sex, murder, double crossing, romance, adventure and taking the piss out of the church. Get a modern translation and it’s the perfect toilet book.
