There’s a perp walk video in this story, kid looks extremely white to me.
I can at least understand the argument for somebody who’s 17 and does something really bad and is completely remorseless/sociopathic about it. But 11? No way.
The gun was unloaded when he found it in the safe. That surely puts a strain on any defense he’s hoping to mount.
This is what I thought when arguing that black people overly represented in arrests, etc. But when I looked it up was kinda shocked that blacs and white prison population is pretty equal at around 32% each with Hispanics around 23%. This is why I can never win a debate with a conservative. I think I’m right but can never look up numbers that back me up
If whites and Blacks are an equal percentage of the prison population, it means Blacks are severely overrepresented because they comprise a much lower percentage of the overall population of the country.
This one is kind of misleading (maybe that’s the point) because women barely do these things. So if every race were proportionally represented, you’d expect the stats on [insert race here] male for each crime to be close to 2x of the percentage of the total population that they make up.
As a white man with the son of a white child who sometimes gets disciplined with “no more screen time” I can tell you the anger is real. Just another reason to not possess a gun in my household.
I think I would stand a much better chance of he tried to stab me death or choke me out. I still have about 100lbs on him for now!
There is a pretty strong correlation between being poor and getting arrested. This is why black people make up a large number relative to their population. They have generational poverty for a large part of the demographic and it shows in prison numbers.
I used to think that people mistook the problems of being poor and misdiagnosed it as racism. I’ve since been disspelled of all notion that’s the case after seeing the overt racism from maga
Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon has called representatives of OpenAI to Ottawa to discuss safety concerns after learning the killer in the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., was banned from using the company’s ChatGPT platform months before the murders.
The company banned Jesse Van Rootselaar’s account in June but said the activities on the account didn’t meet the threshold for informing law enforcement at the time because it didn’t identify credible or imminent planning.
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Van Rootselaar’s account was banned after it was flagged for troubling posts, including some that included scenarios of gun violence.
OpenAI said it contacted the RCMP after the shooting on Feb. 10 when Van Rootselaar killed her mother and half-brother before going to the local secondary school to kill five students, an educational assistant and then herself.
