They just identified the suspect.
18 year old shooter and the dead victims in the school were one adult educator and five students around the ages of 13 and 14.
Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald, the commanding officer for the RCMP in B.C. identifies the suspect as Jesse Van Rootselaar, 18, of Tumbler Ridge.
McDonald said Van Rootselaar identified as female but was assigned male at birth. McDonald said she began to transition about six years ago.
McDonald said police had responded to Van Rootselaar’s home for mental health-related calls over the last several years. He said some of the calls dealt with weapons.
He said firearms were seized from the home and the lawful owner of the firearms petitioned to have them returned, and they were.
The officer said police have not found any note yet from VanRootselaar but it’s possible one was written.

Rule of thumb: if there is a key hidden anywhere in your house, your kid will find it.
My friend’s dad had a locked briefcase under the bed. My friend spent years searching for the key. He finally found it buried in jar of screws in the garage.
The briefcase contained the Joy of Sex book and sex toys that his dad presumably used on his mom. Worst reveal ever.

How does an 11 year old get tried as an adult?
For the life of me I will never understand a minor getting charged as an adult.
