Yes, Vietnam, though to me it’s not really about the war. Like MASH is not really about the Korean War. China Beach is more drama than MASH though. It doesn’t look like they could afford to spend much on combat scenes and there aren’t a lot of those. There’s a lot of flashing forward and back in time, which is a little disorienting, I guess intentionally. The actors say it was a highlight of their careers and I can understand why. I just watched the episode set around the fall of Saigon. Dana Delaney is great.
But also not mentioning why he should not have been allowed to come here. They think people who worked with the US should be left there to be victimized by the Taliban?
