There were some rambling YouTube videos from this guy, assuming he is in fact the one that did it, he appears to have pretty severe mental health problems. I wouldn’t assume that the guy rambling incoherently on YouTube and driving across the country in a rental van is making a lot of coherent and reasoned decisions.
And yet he is able to evade a police force with a budget larger than all but 5 countries on earth.

Ugh. That was the longest 35 second video clip. I can’t imagine how traumatic that experience is for those kids and parents.

Buffalo Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody.
A 106-page online manifesto, believed to have been uploaded by the shooter, explained that he was motivated by a conspiracy theory that white people are being replaced by other races. In the document, he says he is 18 years old and a self-described white supremacist and anti-semite.
“If there’s one thing I want you to get from these writings, it’s that White birth rates must change. Everyday the White population becomes fewer in number,” the document says. “To maintain a population the people must achieve a birth rate that reaches replacement fertility levels, in the western world that is about 2.06 births per woman.”
Last December, the Associated Press and NORC conducted a large national poll examining conspiratorial ideas including this one. They found that nearly half of Republicans agree to at least some extent with the idea that there’s a deliberate intent to “replace” native-born Americans with immigrants.
