We will figure it out, but it if we don’t get clear rules, I predict we will default to mods getting to decide which votes count.
I think there were a lot of posts and he probably skimmed through it once looking for questions to reply to and hasn’t looked at it since.
Can we not with the tip toeing around trying to come as close as possible to doxxing me by using my full name and my full screenname without quite doing it? That’d be awesome, thank you!
And the point here for anyone who’s pretending they aren’t capable of figuring it out is that searching my former full screenname leads directly to my full real name. Searching my full real name does not lead to this screenname. Searching my last name only is not going to come close to leading here.
It’s also reasonable for him to mostly trust the people here, whether they deserve it or not.
Sure, you and I both agree that there’s a disconnect between the ideals of this place and the way it operates in practice. Obviously I disagree with you about the attribution of blame for that disconnect, which is why you and I often end up on different sides in these discussions. Whether that makes them my friends or not, idk.
I think there are plenty of mods that haven’t been added to any BLOOD ENEMIES list so I certainly don’t think it’s a universal truth that all mods get targeted. Jbro even voted for CrunchyBlack iirc
I still think that rotating mods is a good idea and that modding jman, wookie, and CW is not a good idea. I don’t know what else you want me to say about it.
I don’t disagree. In that case he should just stop worrying about doxxing, especially as it was he who doxxed himself in the first place.
I personally love how you think you’re some sort of hero here.
I’m afraid I don’t understand. I don’t have a hero complex.
Projecting much?
Thank you for your suggestion but after thinking about it, I’m still concerned about doxxing. As a result I’m going to again ask you to please stop discussing whether I should be doxxed or exactly what sort of posts would doxx me or not doxx me.
It’s almost like I intentionally selected a new sn that would be almost impossible to link to me in a Google search! Now please stop.
CW… He doesn’t give a shit… His whole purpose and existence on this forum is to stir up drama and push buttons.
Wait lol I didn’t follow the end of that. It was determined Ron was above board?
Do you all get that every time you post some asinine shit like this, it actually is a case of “stir(ing) up drama and push(ing) buttons” or is that way above your paygrade?
Wanting to be less doxxable is totally fine and I think we should allow folks to make changes that make them less doxxable, up to and including potential account anonymizations and deletions.
Perhaps, but as a soon-to-be mod, I’m giving everyone every benefit of the doubt and attempting to stay out of any/all drama as much as possible.
Just because people here know my real name does not make it searchable on Google. People here knowing my real name is regrettably a cat that’s out of the bag, but that doesn’t make it okay to doxx me again so that it’s searchable.
Please drop this now.
Normally, sure. But I don’t see why there should be a difference between one person who self-doxxs for the attention and is treated kindly by admins who rename their account and posts for them, and another who wants their account deleted because they want to leave the site and are worried about personal info being trivially identifiable from their Anon123456 name but are told firmly “no” despite deletions being only a matter of changing a couple of config settings and hitting a button.
You don’t understand the difference in the catalyst of the problem and continuation of the problem. I can assure you that I am not the former but definitely the latter by posting in this thread. I’ll go back to shutting the fuck up in About Unstuck because nothing matters. Congrats on forming a coherent sentence that didn’t contain “dis dumb mf” though.
I agree, both should be allowed
