It’s important for Berners self image that they believe that everyone to Bernie’s right dislikes him and are trying to ratfuck him.
Unfortunately Texas Democrats don’t have a leader after Beto beclowned himself and it really is Democrats in disarray down here.
I quoted the wrong post.
If you’re responding about Sharpton then OK, but if Carville and Matthews et al then LOL.
Bernie has his own problem in TX, he co sponsored a bill to send vermont’s nuke waste there. (worse this was a small town latino community) (context wise it’s not that bad of course, but you think that’s gonna stop republicans from hammering this there?) Definitely not.
Unfortunately Texas Democrats don’t have a leader after Beto beclowned himself and it really is Democrats in disarray down here.
Castro would be a good choice though
Beto going full confiscate all the guns and tax all the churches isn’t something I’m gonna pick as a VP trying to win TX either.
I still figure bern picks one of his loyalists–hopefully not one who is to me one of the toxic ones.
Sure, but $10 to win $500, and it’s clear Sanders is making a play for Texas and Hispanic voters. Beto or Castro for VP seem like they’re delivering juicy pot odds.
0 chance Bernies vp is a straight white male.
Seems to still be plenty of free money on Predictit since bloomers is at no-84c and HClinton no-95c. Sooo, seems the 2020 primary is a wrap. Let’s hope the DNC won’t fumble the ball and let someone who actually knows what they are doing do their own thing, one time.
D obviously favored in Mass, but just keep in mind that (a) biotech and hospitals are two of the biggest employers in the state and (b) Scott Brown won a special election by running against health care reform. I think a “moderate” New England Republican would have a shot.
Scott Brown won because Martha Coakley ran possibly the worst campaign in the history of modern politics.
Seriously, she made the Hillary campaign look competent.
Castro would be the best bet. Already has been in a Democratic administration, broadly progressive, young, can hit the trail hard

Agree. I like him a lot too. Bought some Castro penny stocks months ago.
vvv @microbet Liz is an obvious option too, but she’s above 0.10, so the pot odds aren’t as great.
I think if (big if) Bernie wins the nom and then if he picks any of the other people who ran (also a pretty big if) it will be Liz.
Liz seems pretty unlikely at this point. I don’t really doubt Bern would bury the hatchet but there’s no political reason to pick her. She is also old and white. She is from like a state over from him, so demographically I don’t think it helps them at all.
Yeah, I was all aboard a Warren/Castro ticket not long ago. I don’t like Castro any less now.
I don’t think Bernie will think as much in those terms as other political animals, but she is a woman. I don’t think he would want to make peace with the DemE, but does with the progressive divide between Bernie and Warren supporters and especially with HRC->Warren people. Mostly I think he will think she’s progressive enough and he is a political animal enough to not pick Barbara Lee or Ayanna Pressley or Rashida Tlaib.
Liz dropping some hot anti-filibuster bombs aorn.
I don’t think he would want to make peace with the DemE
Why not? He’s unstoppable if he can make peace with the MSNBC crowd. Traditionally, you pick a VP to balance out the ticket, so Warren seems like a good play. Kinda worry about the age thing, tho.
For the same reason, agree that he’s obviously not picking Tlaib or some other far leftist.
he is a political animal enough to not pick Barbara Lee or Ayanna Pressley or Rashida Tlaib.
Agreed that Tlaib would be a poor choice, and I don’t think he will pick someone ‘farther left’ than he is. Don’t know much about Pressley.
I agree with Trolly that making some sort of truce with DemE is probably wise. “Hey we’ll stop primarying your people of they get on board with the new program. The is the new political reality of things, get over it.”
