The Dallas Wings (with Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd) are in DC tonight, but CareFirst Arena only seats 4,200. I’ve been waiting for prices to drop, but they haven’t. The cheapest single seat is still $177.
I’ll just watch the game on TV.
P.S. The Wings are back on Wednesday night as well. The cheapest ticket for that game right now is $200.

The main issues are:

Capital One Arena is undergoing major renovations now in the NBA/NHL off-season and apparently is not available for games this summer. However, their final game at the end of September will be at Capital One Arena.

Their lease with the City of DC (which runs through 2028) restricts them to a maximum of four games away from CareFirst Arena.
However, the owner of the Mystics, who also owns the Wizards, the Capitals, and Capital One Arena, said recently that after the renovations are completed in 2028, he’d like the Mystics to play at least 12 to 14 games at Capital One Arena each year, assuming they can negotiate that in their lease renewal with DC for CareFirst Arena.
A deep dive on Facebook and Reddit suggested that CareFirst Arena was initially supposed to seat 8,000 to 10,000 people, but DC withheld previously promised funding.

LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard, whose sponsorship deal with a now-bankrupt green banking company is at the center of an NBA investigation, also had an undisclosed sponsorship agreement allegedly worth millions of dollars with the company that designed the Clippers’ videoboard inside the Intuit Dome, former ESPN contributor Pablo Torre reported on his podcast “Pablo Torre Finds Out” on Thursday.
Torre interviewed someone identified as an “anonymous high-level source under contract for Intuit Dome” who alleged that the sponsorship deal “was 1,000% a way to circumvent the salary cap. It was funneling money from the Clippers through Daktronics back to Kawhi.”
Torre also cited an anonymous former Clippers official who said they knew that Leonard had a sponsorship deal with Daktronics, the South Dakota-based company that designed “The Halo Board” – the largest double-sided halo display built in an arena – inside the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, the Clippers’ $2 billion venue that opened in August 2024.
The NBA launched its investigation into the Clippers and Leonard in September after numerous podcasts from Torre, who cited internal documents that showed that Clippers owner Steve Ballmer invested $50 million in Aspiration through his personal LLC in September 2021. That month, the Clippers signed a 23-year, $300 million deal with Aspiration, making the company the “first founding partner” of the Intuit Dome.

Also, if the Aspiration deal was for $150 million instead of 25 or whatever and there weren’t any other deals like for Daktronics it wouldn’t be as bad in the public’s eye.
People will view 3 smaller frauds as worse than one big fraud worth more than all 3.

Freedom’s pronouns have been changed in the lead to his Wikipedia article, but not throughout the rest of it, so I assume someone vandalized it but wasn’t that dedicated. The talk article is debating which pronouns to use
