Iām guessing/hoping it was based on conversations about acquiring Bridges and still having some flexibility. Not that I would do it, but I could see foregoing some money in order to be able to play with your friends + still have shot to win.
Also possible his agent thinks that the PR from this/being leader of championship contender in NY will move him to the top tier of endorsements.

My understanding is that the nba will fight tntās desire to āmatchā. Especially because itās not a full match but just in money. The NBA is happy to go with Amazon and leave tnt behind.
