Movies (and occasionally face slaps) (Part 3)

Wonder whatever happened to Brian Bosworth. Seems like he should be a congressman by now. Or maybe Secretary of the Interior!

He’s a sheriff.

I mean he is perfect in this role and the movie is a 6.1 on IMDB which is right up your alley plus you’re a frequent Tubi user so figured it was worth a shot lol

He’s the Secretary of Dr. Pepper

Maybe next time the house asks me for a rec we’ll put it on.

I actually haven’t been watching anything except occasionally what’s already on in the living room, and that’s usually whatever this guy Jerry picks and he is a Tubi BDSM whore so it’s usually bad and dirty :sob:

Yes obviously it’s wrong, I haven’t seen trapper John md since I was a kid at my grandmothers house back in 1982 or whatever. At the time I knew ā€œtrapper Johnā€ was a mash character but my 9 year old brain only remembered BJ Honeycutt.

Gary Oldman as a little person costarring next to Peter Dinklage. How is this real.

If you think Twilight is Robert Pattinson’s worst movie, wait until you see the sci-fi classic in which he wrestles with a gigantic dismembered penis. Was that more or less gross than the demons that came out of people’s butts in Dreamcatcher ? Always nice to see Steven though.

Good lord. Look what they did to my boy Ruffalo. Where is the performance?

Just wait until you see Mickey 17. He’s the worst part of it by a lot.

This movie was so bad. I don’t understand how this happened. Even Pattinson is unwatchable.

Oh, you WERE talking Mickey 17. Okay. Well, my sympathies. I suffered through that movie too.

I thought Pattinson did a good job, but that it didn’t matter.

Oh lol I thought it was YOU who was making some meta joke

I do not think Pattinson did a good job. But I know he has it in him.

Times Square (1980)

Two girls meet in a mental hospital. One is a politician’s daughter, and the other is a punk rock street kid. They break out of the hospital together and become punk rock street kids in Time Square, which was all strip clubs and go-go bars back then. Fun movie with a great soundtrack.

2 bags of popcorn and a caffeine-free diet coke.

46% is a crazy critics score for Constantine.

I’d argue 72% is equally ridiculous for the audience score. This should be over 90% easy.

I haven’t seen Constantine, but RT scores are the least valuable popular metric by a lot once a week has passed since release.

Basically the entire value of them is that they aggregate the critic scores the earliest and provide one of the earliest tells about whether a new release is going to be worth seeing. Once it has been out for long enough to get a meaningful number of votes, IMDb and Letterboxd are both easily better barometers than this up-or-down nonsense that RT operates on.

I enjoyed The Dilema with Vince Vaughn. Yes, its tonally inconsistent, and there are some wildly inappropriate moments of seriousness in what is essentially a bro comedy, but I still had a good time with it.

Constantine is a very good movie. That score is absurd.

We watched One of Them Days yesterday, which had a great cast and decent premise. We thought it was a pretty bad and massively predictable movie with a lot of wasted comedic potential. It turns out most critics and audiences loved it. We were surprised.

One of Them Days worked for me, though it’s nothing amazing. I just think Keke Palmer’s an all-around star and did well with a comedy too. Honestly, for something that was clearly Friday-influenced, I liked it better than Friday.
