Haha that’s great

Needs to be him literally staring at the screen of her.

That made me wince. I have a hard tjme watching someone put in their contacts. I have a very bad family history of macular degeneration so shots will be in the future.

I’ll try to remember to watch this in dialysis tomorrow.

My daughter wanted to watch Sinners tonight, so I watched it with her. It worked better the second time for me than the first, although it still didn’t hang together quite as tightly as I would like. I won’t be mad if it wins best picture, though.

Yeah, but what did she think?

Compared to other best picture nominations that she has seen, she liked it better than F1 and Frankenstein, tied with OBAA, and a little less than Hamnet.

Y’all…

Okay, the subplot with the prototype fuel injector is ridiculous and should not be in this movie.

But aside from that?? Twins starring Arnold and Danny is a fucking great movie. A heartwarming story of family, self discovery, radical acceptance, romance. The writing is excellent. The dialogue is moving. The twists and resolutions make me cry.

There’s a great moment where one brother tells the other dude, you’re not a loser. I was raised with privilege, family, education, support. But you had no one to love you, trust you, encourage you. That’s why it’s great we found each other. Because now you do.

I just thought wow, what an insightful and generous thing to say.

BTW, one thing I feel stupid for not picking up during my first view is that the reason the Chinese family has stores on both sides of the street is segregation.

Now try to make her narrow it down removing Hamnet. It’s best to dash her hopes on that one now.

Margin Call (2011)

Watched last night. Ebert’s review ends with “The dog is the only creature in the entire film that anyone likes.” The dog dies. That about sums it up for me.
