Movies (and occasionally face slaps) (Part 3)

You know what, I read your post backwards. I will leave the post up as an example of owning my mistake.

Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies (2020)

The story chronicles nudity’s evolution in cinema from silent era through #MeToo, examining moral shifts, gender dynamics, artistic intent vs. exploitation, and nudity’s role in storytelling amid proliferation of compelling content.

I’d say this is required viewing for any cinephile. A very interesting way to retell the history of cinema. Cool interview subjects. It’s streaming free on [censored].

What an absolute travesty it is that Warner Bros. does not own this and will not be distributing it…

Looney Tunes is one Warner Bros.’ biggest legacies and dude just throws it in the trash.

Internal tax management teams at large companies are just awful. They don’t create anything of value and cynically move revenue and expenses around to obtain tax savings that exceed the cost of their department. I’ve met an handful of these people and they are universally miserable. It’s hard to do a job with no purpose, even if it’s well compensated.

It’s one guy in this case. A guy who shouldn’t be running the studio. He apparently hates legacy WB IP.

The critically acclaimed documentary Wick is Pain is now on Netflix :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Y’all, Greenland was a surprising banger. Just when you think the asteroid apocalypse genre has nothing new to offer.

And yet I still thought they were crazy to make a sequel about the same family surviving in a post-asteroid world. But look at this trailer! I expect a good time will be had.

If you have not read the book and want to preserve an amazing literary twist do not watch any of the Project Hail Mary trailers.

I loathe trailers. It’s borderline an anti-art job at this point.

The second trailer is an absolute crime.

I saw the preview for it the other day at the theater. My reaction was “there was a Greenland 1?”.

Second one was terrible, and I am 1,000% the demographic for cozy murder mystery parodies.

Man, they just don’t make movie posters like this anymore.

Who cares about the poster? But you need to all watch the movie right dam now.

Strongly disagree.

Have you seen Deathtrap (1982)?
