Is this the one with the party in the Hollywood Hills?
Is this streaming?

If only we had thrown MORE bodies at them. That would have fixed things
Fantastic movie. Nice slow burn that ratchets with each passing moment. Highly recommended
Yes it’s awesome
The Guilty (2018)
8/10
A Dutch movie about a cop on assigned desk duty which I guess mean manning their 911 line. He’s almost done with his shift when he gets a call from a woman who’s kidnapped. Most movies that do a man in a room who only gets phone calls from the outside world have some kind of very obvious gimmick, but having the protagonist be a 911 operator which means everything is dialing phone numbers and calling people works perfectly. They also live and die on the protagonist acting skills because there’s no one else to react to. On this the movie does great too.
Looks like they’re remade it in 2021.
On Max
Just got around to watching Nosferatu, holy smokes they knocked it out of the park.
Something kind of neat about Stephen King and movies that I learned about today
It feels like it’s both altruistic as well as smart business sense, since more people exposed to King’s work means more people as potential customers for his books.
Especially since there are so many horrific adaptations of his work
A Complete Unknown
I can’t really say I’m a big Bob Dylan fan. He has some great songs like the Hurricane Carter one (and I can’t think of any songs of his that I hate), but it’s not the kind of music I generally seek out. So I’m going in unexcited, but certainly not dreading it as a chore.
First off, A+ job by Chalamet here. Career defining performance from someone who already has several high-profile roles in his resume. The rest of the cast does pretty well too, especially Monica Barbaro. Even the dude who played a mute Woody Guthrie did very well.
I was into this for the first half, but it almost completely lost me in the second half. There was just way too much focus on the love triangle. There were short glimpses of his political influences and involvement; I wanted much more of that.
It’s a better film than the musical biopic of last year (Maestro), but while that one bored me from the jump, this one actually had me hooked for about an hour, so I’m just left a little disappointed at the final result.

Reawatching THX 1138. You know what, George Lucas sometimes makes dubious choices, but he was cooking with this one. Looks incredible, this man is so good at creating sci-fi worlds that feel lived-in. Some of the visual effects look a little dated, but overall it’s gorgeous. Plus, ya boys Robert Duvall and Donald Pleasance are in this movie.
Bridget Jones 4.
Really good. A really good way to wrap up the series.
3.75/5
I didn’t even realize there was a fourth film. I really enjoyed the third one so I’ll be watching this.
1BR is a pretty good thriller about a girl who moves into a Hollywood apartment and thinks she’s found the perfect place, but she quickly discovers the true owners have sinister motives. Streaming on Tubi.
Came out this week on Peacock. There is one plot point that Im not the hugest fan of, but it is necessary for the movie to exist.
This was really good. thanks.
